SHE WAS THE FOUNDATION OF MY BREEDING PROGRAM. BUT MUCH MORE THEN THAT, SHE WAS MY FRIEND, MY HEART DOG, SHE WAS MY OWN SWEET GYPSYROSE..AND SHE IS MISSED.
She had a litter in 1998. She gave me seven beautiful normal eyed puppies by Ch. Valiant Leonine Star N/C. It was that litter that earned her her REGISTER OF MERIT award. I got busy, and time passed, still I had not sent in her information for her ROM. I waited, at first, because one of her Champion daughters produced four champions in a litter of seven, and I hoped their owners would eventually put one of the seven through obedience and perhaps a working title would be gotten as well. But since this did not happen, then in 2007 as GypsyRose closed in on her 12th birthday, I submitted her information for her ROM.
Below I have pictured the five title holders from the only litter she ever had, who won her this coveted title. A title I should have submitted her for many years ago.
At two years old she earned her HIC in the company of four of her offspring, two of whom also won their HIC's at seven months of age. At 8 she did agility from the intermediate level without basic training and passed at the top of her class of 15 dogs (incuding herself) even though the 14 others had been through basic training. She was the only collie and she was the oldest dog there. At nearly 9 years of age she did freestyle. At 11 1/2 she earned her CGN on her first attempt.
Her offspring & grandoffspring have founded two kennels, and proven themselves of value in other kennels as well.
So, even though she didn't LIKE the show ring...Gypsy has defintely made her mark.
