Japanese Magazine: Hua Liu Star Now

Looking forward to see Ken, who is not F4

Many thanks to Kazu for typing this article in Japanese for easy viewing,
And wowo818’s hard-work translating it into Chinese

Once again, Ken returned to the stage of Tokyo National Convention Centre after
the remarkable success of his first solo concert about a year ago. Putting
everything aside, he arrived Japan two weeks before the concert began so as to
concentrate on its preparation. Thus we had a thorough chat on his concert, F4, as
well as his future plans.

Life is like that, it comes with good and bad.

Q: Just celebrated 29th birthday in January, how do you feel when compared to your
expectations 10 years ago?

K: That is way different. I can’t tell why it turned out like this after 10 years. Yet,
afterall, I am lucky to have a blessed life. Compared to 10 years ago, life gets
better and better everyday. I can take care of my family and travel to places as I
wish. I was unable to do any of these when I was 19.

Q: Read from an interview that last years was a bad-luck year for you. I worried
about you.

K: That was okay. Life does not always goes with ease. However, not only bad
things happened. It really depends how you take it. Last year, I was really
frustrated. My health was not very good, so was my luck. Yet, we all encountered
such times, don’t we?

Q: Are you still in grief because your father passed away?

K: That is not the case. Fate won’t change no matter how sad you are. It is useless
to be trapped in sorrow. In other words, it is good for my father. He kept suffering
in illnesses. Despite, he lost conscious at the end and felt no pain. He was gone in
peace just like fell asleep.

Q: Can you imagine how would you look like after 10 years when you turn 40?

K: I believe I will still do the same job. There may not be too much differences.
Only that, I hate to keep it as it is. I thought of changing my work. Now, most
works are assigned to the others. Later on, I’d like to get involve with more
decision-making.

K: I want to take the challenge as a producer, starting recently with my 2 new songs
"Rain" and "Walk out from yesterday". Others did the songs and lyrics whereas I
produced them. I am not 100% satisfied with my previous songs because I did not
have a chance to take part in its production, or got my inputs in them. I could not
tell where it went wrong and did not know how to correct them. Even though I
knew, it was not easy to point it out to some famous producers. This time, I do not
only sing but also took part actively in the whole process. They were completed with
a relatively low budget as compared to F4 album. However, I am so satisfied with
the completed work. I can proudly say, "Simple music, that is what I long for and
I've done it!"

Getting marry and have children before 40 years old

Q: Do you really want to have grandchildren before 60 years old?

K: I am serious. 60 is my deadline. It would be even better if it can be done when I
am younger. Playing with kids and taking care of them is a demanding job. You
can’t afford it as you aged.

Q:Well..prior to having grandkids, you have to settle with a family first. While
thinking of the life at 40, are you married?

K: Hahaha….Indeed. It seems like a wild thought talking about grandkids all a
sudden. (Burst in laughs) Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be a problem. I guess I will get
marry and have children before turning 40.

Q: Can you imagine how F4 will look like by then?

K: Can’t imagine. Perhaps, Zaizai and I will both get married. I think, somehow,
Vanness will still act like a child. I can hardly imagine him settle down in family life.
For Jerry, he may think it twice. He may have too much to consider and end up
unable to make up his mind for marriage.

F4 release a new album after 5 years.

K: We have a lot of feed backs from fans worldwide. I am glad that the sales are
good. Unfortunately, there were not many album events due to our tight schedules.
It was a regret that we were unable to finish all the stamps for fans at the Xi Men
Ding stamp session.

Q: Among the songs, do you have any preferences or any particular song you want
to sing?

K: They are all with its uniqueness as everyone has his own preferences.

Q: From your viewpoint, what do F3 mean to you?

K: Umm….(thinking~) we are good comrades who work together all the time.
Talking about the stamp session, it was rather impressive than only joy.)

Q: During the interview with Hou Pei Cen on “Entertainment @Asia”, you
mentioned that Jerry and you have so many resemblances in personalities. I was
quite surprised.

K: Oh really? As I said, Jerry and I have very similar personalities. We only express
ourselves in two extreme opposite ways in handling our work and in respect to our
attitude. Jerry is so clear about what he has been asked for. He is that type of
person who concerned so much about other’s critics on him. At the beginning, I
cared a lot on others' comments, just like Jerry. I often bothered with worries.
Suddenly one day, I realized that I worried too much and decided to let it go
naturally. It seems that we go at a completely opposite way, yet deep down, Jerry
and I are of the closest resemblances.

Q: On the same interview, you commented that Vanness is the smartest man. In
what way you referred?

K: He is always optimistic. We all encounter frustrations and depressions. For
Vanness, he choose to look forward and ride through it with a positive attitude.
That is his smartest strength.

Q: After such a long time that you and Zaizai co-act in the same drama “Wish to
see you again”. How do you feel?

K: Nothing changed at all. Has he really grown up a bit? (Chuckle~)

Q: Zaizai alleged, "Ken is mine!" at Danshui. (Laughs~)

K: This guy is always like that ever since I knew him. Zaizai is that type of person
who needs to be looked after. I’m afraid no one will take care of him other than
me. (chuckle~) It is difficult to understand him completely. Sometimes, it is hard to
know what he is talking about, what is in his mind. Perhaps, I am the one who know
him better as we have more chances to talk with each other closely. I am the only
one that understand his humour at once.
