This may sound a bit odd but I love "white noise." Y'know, sort of
indeterminate sounds that break the silence. I love the sound of static
on a TV station that's gone off the air for the night.

I love machine noises: the roar of a vacuum cleaner; the sound of a
garbage truck in the early morning; the chugging of a washing machine.

I love the sound of running water: showers; heavy rainfall; the ocean
surf. I go to sleep most nights listening to a recording called "Majestic
Waterfall." Back when I used to go camping in the Boy Scouts, I loved the
sound of rain hitting my tent.

Another great camping sound was the noise of a crackling fire.
