LCpl Robert G. Brown

As you may have noticed, this web site is dedicated to the memory of LCpl Robert G. Brown. LCpl Brown was one of those Marines whose name I could not remember when I read the names inscribed on the face of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

When I started building this site, I didn't know his name. With the help of former Marines from the 2/4 Association (including Jim Mazy and Ed Garr) and some of the former members of Golf Battery, 3d Battalion, 12th Marines who have contacted me after reading about my FO from Operation Texas, I eventually discovered his name.

A year or so later I again had an opportunity to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This time I knew where I was going and I thought that I knew what to expect. But I had never taken a rubbing of a name from the wall, and I was surprised by what I can only describe as a spiritual experience.
