One of the outgrowths of renewing my acquaintance with General Kelley was an interest in getting into contact with others from the "Magnificent Bastards," in particular, those who I served with on Double Eagle, Texas and the other 2/4 operations in late 1965 and early 1966.

I found the 2/4 Association, and SgtMaj Awkerman convinced me that I should join the group at the reunion at Parris Island. Great bunch of Marines (and Navy Corpsmen!). Do these guys look happy, or what?

 
 

In memory of LCpl Robert Guy Brown, KIA on Operation Texas on March 21, 1966. LCpl Brown had been the acting artillery FO for Echo Company, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines. He had just turned 19.  Semper Fi.
