		We wasted no time after landing before getting caught up in the battle. I'll never forget the odd change of feeling when the UH-34's wheels touched down in the LZ. The intensity and the feeling of purpose served to remove the butterflies. There was no backing out of this, and we simply had to bear down and do the work for which we had trained. The things we saw were like nothing we had seen in training. I thought this would be counterguerrilla warfare. They never had body parts all over the terrain in that school. They didn't have these things either - whole fields full of punji stakes.
