Maine undated Municipal issue. After the last batch of the "Mun Vehicle" plates expired the state switched over to this green on white plate, dumping the stacked prefix for the full word "Municipal". Plates have no expiration date or stickers used on these plates but it must still be registered with the state. These would be used through the early 1990's before being replaced.
Maine undated Municipal issue. Back in the early 1990's the green plates were later changed over to blue. The state chose to issue plates in this 400-000 block of plates. The older wider dies were used on this plate from the 400 to the 410 series. The switch was made at the 411-101 series.
Maine 1968/74 State Vehicle issue. Plate here is used for state vehicles from loaders to snow plows. Every 6 years plates of this era would be changed along with the passenger plates. This is another one of the plates with the 6 different die types being used.
Maine undated State issue. Starting in the 1990 these new black on white state plates replaced the previous base used which is one I do not have. Several different formats and numbering styles are used for different state related vehicles. The "T" prefix on this plate denotes "Department of Transportation" used for any D.O.T. vehicles. Starting on Sept. 17, 2003 Governor Baldacci released a new state plates that reads "WWW.MAINE.GOV" those plates will gradually replace these plates when vehicles are retired or a plate that needs replacing.

Maine County Vehicle Trailer issue. This plate pretty much what it says it is. I have NEVER seen one of these anywhere on the roads. Apparently they did not issue too many of these things where this one is #40 and was never used. Most Police Departments that have trailers are issued a standard "Municipal" plate in the 300-000 series block.
