| Maine 1985 Equipment issue. After numerous times of research, I have come to the conclusion that these plates began in 1974. These equipment plates are used on various types of equipment such as light towers, generators, tractors and etc. |

| Maine 1998 Equipment issue. After the black and white plates expired and were changed over to the lobster plates, the dies were changed too. I dont have an example of the "old" die plate but will soon. These are another of the smaller registration types that you will see on the roads. |
