In The Belly Of A Fish

Arise and go to Nineveh
And tell them to repent
But Jonah refused to listen to God
As down to Joppa he went
(As down to Joppa he went)

He boarded a ship to Tarshish
This is where he would go
But by him disobeying God
Strong winds began to blow
(Strong winds began to blow)

The ship was near sinking
And Jonah was to blame
So he asked the men to heave him overboard
That they need not die in vain
(That they need not die in vain)

They feared the God of Jonah
But they did what he asked
And as he was tossed out of the ship
The sea became calm at last
(The sea became calm at last)

As God had planned the winds to blow
And caused the sea to roll
He also had a fish in mind
To swallow Jonah whole
(To swallow Jonah whole)

For three days and three nights
Inside the fish hell stay
And then hell go to Nineveh
Hell think of God and pray
(Hell think of God and pray)

He was tossed to and fro
In the belly of a fish
He cried unto God
I will do as You wish

For three days and nights
I havent slept a wink
But for sure Ill go to Nineven
Whatever You think
Whatever You think
(pause)

And again the Word of the LORD
Was heard in Jonahs ear
Arise and go unto Nineveh
And preach time draweth near
(And preach time draweth near)

Unless they repent and turn to Me
And forget their evil ways
Theyll become like Sodom and Gomorrah
Theyve got just forty days
(Theyve got just forty days)

So Jonah went into Nineveh
And told them all the news
Why the people they all repented
And then Jonah got the blues
(And then Jonah got the blues)

Yes God forgave Nineveh
Of all their evil deeds
It sure upset poor Jonah
But God knew their needs
(But God knew their needs)

He was tossed to and fro
In the belly of a fish
He cried unto God
I will do as You wish

For three days and nights
I havent slept a wink
But for sure Ill go to Nineven
Whatever You think
Whatever You think
(pause)
