My name is Marja Askola and I was graduated from Tampere University in 1986 (I studied education). My husband Timo works as a wholesaler. Our children Thomas and Suvi-Marja are already adults and starting their own life.

Timo bred as a young man, along with his father, fine Finnish hunting dogs (kennel Aslan). My own dog hobby started in 1993, when we got a new family member, cavalier kingcharlesspaniel. Soon I started dog-shows and after a while, breeding. The kennelname Chilliwack's was admitted in 1996; that year my first cavalier-litter was also born. Fin Ch Chilliwack's Gypsy Girl has been my most succesful cavalier.

Pekingese-girl Charlottie came to us in 1997. She is my Russian import, from the famous English bloodlines. Mrs Olga Gracheva has imported many pekingeses from England; for example Frampton Elusive Dreams at Dratsum, StSanja Round Midnight at Dratsum, StSanja The First Step to Dratsum and Livanda Lucio. She is also a judge for this breed.
My first peke-litter was born in 1999. I have worked very closely with Mrs Gracheva and of course with other breeders.

The basis of my breeding is a good bitch; there are always plenty of available good males. The difficulty is to choose "the right one". I have got my knowledge by studying, having contacts with other breeders and in actual practise. The main coal is a healthy, typical of breed -peke with a good character.

Pekingese has an ancient dignity and mystery, which is very hard to resist. The best of all have been the dogs themselves. The birth of my every litter has been a forever-new and wonderful happening. The puppies are cared with love in the middle of our normal family life. It's nice to follow, how they will grow up.

I hope, that this charming breed gets more success. Pekingese is a loyal friend in joy and sorrow, and quite easy to care.
