Sanshientai, Taitung County
Sanshientai Sanshientai is a rock outcropping on the East Coast that is connected to the main island by a humped bridge. This is a picture of the author at the summit of this rock formation. Disclaimer: Since I am now a slightly overweight middle age man who occasionally drinks too much, I would never attempt to climb this rock myself. To create the affect, my image was cut/pasted at the top by one of my evil computer genius friends.
Sanshientai - which roughly translates to "Big rocks, connected by humped bridge" in Chinese.
Directions: Easy to find. Just drive about 45 minutes north from Taitung on the coast road. (HWY 11) When you see the large rock outcroppings connected by a multi-humped red bridge you are there.
