Taroko Gorge: Tunnel of Nine Turns
Tunnel of Nine Turns

The Tunnel of Nine Turns is the narrowest, and most scenic section of Taroko Gorge.   This is one stop that you should not miss when visiting Taroko  National Park. 

The old cliff hanger road is closed to traffic, and is now used as a walking path for the throngs of tourists that pass through this area.  

Note:  Watch out for the
rocks slides in this area, especially if there have been recent earthquakes or typhoons...

Directions:   Drive about 5 KM past Yentzukuo,  The turn off for the Tunnel of Nine Turns is just before a long tunnel. (There will be a large parking lot on your left.)

You can park either before or after the tunnel.   In either case, the walking distance is about 1 KM along the old  road.
