Poems that make you think always bring warm fuzzies on the inside Enjoy

Believe in Yourself-
There may be days when you get up in the morning and things arent the way you had hoped they would be.
Thats when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.
But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.
There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.
So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.
Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.
Keep believing in yourself.

Maybe were supposed to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door to happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we dont see the one which has been opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch with and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation youve ever had. Its true that we dont know what weve got until we lose it, but its also true that we dont know what weve been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that theyll love you back. Dont expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart, but if it doesnt, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Dont get for looks; they can deceive. Dont go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and once chance to do all the things you want to do. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. Always put yourself in others shoes. If you feel that it hurt you, it probably hurt the other person too. The happiest of people dont necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you cant go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

When youve trusted God and walked his way.
When you feel His hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way
Start over.
Then youve made your place theyve gone awry
When youve tried your best and theres not more to try
When youve failed yourself and you dont know why...
Start over.
When youve told your friends what you plan to do
When youve trusted them and they didnt come through
And now youre all alone and its up to youK
Start over.
When youve failed your kids and theyve grown and gone
When youve done your best but its turned out wrong
And now your grandchildren have come alongK
Start over.
When youve prayed to god so youll know his will
When youve prayed and prayed and you dont know still
When you want to stop cause youve had your fill
Start over.
When you think youre finished and want to quit.
When youve bottomed out in lifes deepest pit.
When you tried and tried to get out of it.
Start over.
When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and youre feeling blue.
God gives a January just for youK
Start over.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. Weve learned how to make a living, but not a life; weve added years to life, not life to years.
Weve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the neighbor.
Weve conquered outer space, but not inner space; weve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; weve split the atom, but not our prejudice.
We have higher incomes, but lower morals; weve become long on quantity, but short on quality. These are the times of tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition. These are the days of two incomes, and more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time when there is too much in the show window and nothing in the stock room.

Getting out of bed every morning and thanking God for another beautiful day.

I am thankful: For the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching TV, because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.
And finallyK..
For too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.

Close to the door
He paused to stand
As he took his class ring
Off her hand
All who were watching
Did not speak As a silent tear Ran down his cheek And through his mind The memories ran Of the moments they walked And laughed in the sand But now her eyes were so terrible cold For he would never again Have her to hold. They watched in silence As he bent near And whispered the wordsK. I love you in her ear. He touched her face And started to cry As he put on his ring And wanted to die And just then the wind began to blow As they lowered her casket Into the snow This is what happens To man aliveK. When friends let friendsK Drink and drive.
The handwriting on the wall A weary mother returned from the store, Lugging groceries through the kitchen door. Awaiting her arrival was her eight year old son, Anxious to relate what his younger brother has done. While I was out playing and dad was on a call, T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall! Its on the new paper you just hung in the den. I told him youd be mad at having to do it again. She let out a moan and furrowed her brow. Where is your little brother right now? She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride, She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide. She called his full name as she entered his room. He trembled with fear V he knew that meant doom! For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved About the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved. Lamenting all the work it would take to repair, She condemned his actions and total lack of care. The more she scolded, the madder she got, Then stomped from his room, totally distraught! She headed for the den to confirm her fears. When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears. The message she read pierced her soul with a dart. It said, I love Mommy, surrounded by a heart. Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it, With an empty picture frame hung to surround it. A reminder to her, and indeed to all, Take time to read the handwriting on the wall.
Mommy Johnny brought a gun to school, He told his friends that it was cool, And when he pulled the trigger back, It shot with a great crack. Mommy, I was a good girl, I did what I was told, I went to school, I got straight as, I even got the gold! But mommy, when I went to school that day, I never said goodbye, Im sorry mommy, I had to go, But mommy, please dont cry. When Johnny shot the gun, He hit me and another, And all because Johnny, Got the gun from his older brother. Mommy, please tell daddy; That I love him very much, And please tell Chris; my boyfriend; That it wasnt just a crush. And tell my little sister; That she is the only now, And tell my dear sweet grandmother; Ill be waiting for her now. And tell my wonderful friends; That they always were the best, Mommy, Im not the first, Im no better than the rest. Mommy, tell my teachers; I wont show up for class, And never to forget this, And please dont let this pass. Mommy, whyd it have to be me? No one deserves this, Mommy, warn the others, Mommy, I left with out a kiss. And mommy, tell the doctors; I know they really did try, I think I even saw a doctor Trying not to cry. Mommy, Im slowly dying, With a bullet in my chest, But mommy, please remember, Im in heaven with the rest. Mommy, I ran as fast as I could, When I heard that crack, Mommy, listen to me if you would, Im not coming back. I wanted to go to college, I wanted to try things that were new, I guess Im not going with Daddy; On that trip to the new zoo. I wanted to get married, I wanted to have a kid, I wanted to be an actress, Mommy, I wanted to live. But mommy I must go now, The time is getting late, Mommy tell my boyfriend, Im sorry, but I had to cancel the date. I love you mommy, I always have, I know; you know its true, And mommy all I wanted to say, Mommy, I love you.
About ten years ago, a young and very successful executive named josh was traveling down a Chicago neighborhood street. He was going a bit too fast in his sleek, black, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE, which was only two months old. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and WHUMP! It smashed into the jags shiny black side door. SCREECHK..!!!!! Brakes slammed! Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown. Josh jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, what was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!?!? building up a head of steam, he went on. Thats my new Jag, that brick you threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it? Please, mister, pleaseKIm sorry! I didnt know what else to do! pleaded the youngster. I threw the brick because no one else would stop! tears were dripping down the boys chin as he pointed around the parked car. Its my brother, mister, he said. He rolled off the curb and out of his wheelchair and I cant life him up. Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, Would you please help me get him back in his wheelchair? Hes hurt and hes too heave for me. Moved beyond words, the young executive tried desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining, he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be ok. He then watched the younger brother push him down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long walk back to the sleek, black, shining, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE V a long and slow walk. Josh never did fix the side door of his jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attentionK.
True story: A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an Olympic diver. The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken Christian friend. The young diver never really paid much attention to his friends sermons, but he heard them often. One night, the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he attended. The lights were all off, but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to practice by. The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned his back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out, he saw his shadow on the wall. The shadow of his body was in the shape of a cross. At that moment the love of God overwhelmed him. Instead of diving, he knelt down and asked Christ to come into his life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights on. The pool had been drained for repairs.
Read carefully and understand the meanings. Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear. Dont cry over anyone who wont cry over you. If love isnt a game, why are there so many players? Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. You can only go as far as you push. Actions speak louder than words. The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love somebody else. Dont let the past hold you back, youre missing the good stuff. Lifes short. If you dont look around once in awhile you might miss it. A best friend is like a four leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have. Some people make the world special just by being in it. Best friends are the sibling God forgot to give us. When it hurts to look back, and youre scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there. True friendship never ends. Friends are forever. Good friends are like starsKyou dont always see them, but you know they are always there. Dont frown. You never know who is falling in love with your smile. What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the person who made you cry? Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them. Everything is okay in the end. If its not okay, then its not the end. Most people walk in and out of your life, But only friends leave footprints in your heart.
Ladies: this is a powerful piece and, as suggested below, should be shared with as many female friends as possible. But, also can be copied to the Men as well. It is particularly important that we share this with our younger sisters, daughters, nieces, friends who may suffer in silence not knowing where to turn. I got flowers today. It wasnt my birthday or any other special day. We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didnt mean the things he said. Because he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today. It wasnt our anniversary or any other special day. Last night, he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like a nightmare. I couldnt believe it was real. I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over. I know he must be sorry. Because he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today, and it wasnt Mothers Day or any other special day. Last night, he beat me up again. And it was much worse than all the other times. If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of my kids? What about money? Im afraid of him and scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry. Because he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today. Today was a very special day. It was the day of my funeral. Last night, he finally killed me. He beat me to death. If only I had gathered enough courage and strength to leave him, I would not have gotten flowersKtoday. Stop domestic violence today!! Do not tolerate it! Sometimes you never know whos going through it until its too late.
If I were to kill myself today, what would you think? Would think of all the good times we had, or would you think of the bad ones? Would you think that you liked me, or hated my guts? Would your mom have liked me, if we ever got to meet? Would you have waved at me if you saw me on the street? Did you treat me fair like the cool one of them all, or did you make fun of me while I scurried through the hall? But most importantly would you have missed or be glad I was gone? I know what goes on everywhere, even at your very own school but millions of people kill themselves because no one in their class will count them in as their friend, but will you personally do this and think of someone you know who you have left out or made fun.
Written by a 12 year old girl in Boston: Now I sit me down in school where praying is against the rule. For this great nation under God finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, it violates the Bill of Rights. Anytime my head I bow becomes a federal matter now. The law is specific; the law is precise. Praying out loud is no longer nice. Praying aloud in a public hall upsets those who believe in nothing at all. In silence alone we can meditate and if God should get the credit-great! They are bringing their guns; I dont dare bring my Bible, to do so, might make me liable. So now oh Lord, this plea I make; should I be shot in school, my soul please take.
The story of life Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger), but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reelections you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothings happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of you soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to pen you heart and eyes to things. Make everyday count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possible can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen, let yourself fall in love, break free, and set you sights high. Hold you head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you wont believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you. You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it was absolutely no regrets. Most importantly, if you LOVE someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store. And learn a lesson in life each day that you live. Thats the story of life.
The greatest pain in life The greatest pain in life Is not to die, But to be ignored. To lost the person you love so much To another who doesnt care at all? To have someone you care about so much Throw a partyK And not tell you about it. When your favorite person on earth Neglects to invite you to his graduation. To have people think that you dont care. The greatest pain in life, Is not to die, But to be forgotten. To be left in the dust after anothers great Achievement. To never get a call from a friend, Just saying hi. When you show someone your inner most thoughts And they laugh in your face. For friends to always be Too busy to console you When you need someone to left your spirits. When it seems like the only person who cares about you is you. Life is full of pain, But does it ever get better? Will people ever care about each other, And make time for those who are in need? Each of us has a part to play In this great show we call life. Each of us has a duty to mankind To tell our friends we love them. If you do not care about your friends You will not be punished. You will simply be ignoredK ForgottenK.. As you have done to others.
After living a decent life my time on earth came to an end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse. The door opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table. As I looked around I saw the prosecutor, he was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me, he definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked to my left and there sat my lawyer, a kind and gentle looking man who appearance seemed very familiar to me. The corner door flew open and there appeared the judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as he moved across the room and I couldnt take my eyes off of him. As he took his seat behind the bench, he said, let us begin. The prosecutor rose and said my name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell. He proceeded to tell of lies that I told; things that I stole and in the past when I cheated other. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldnt look at anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about. As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at my representative who there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I have done some good in my life-couldnt that at least equal out part of the harm Ive done. Satan finished with a fury and said this man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not person who can prove otherwise. Justice will finally be served this day. When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the bench. The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned him to come forward. As he got up and started walking I was able to see him now in his full splendor and majesty. Now I realized why he seems so familiar, this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior. He stopped at the bench and softly said to the judge hi Dad and then He turned to address the court. Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I wont deny any of these allegations. And yes the wages of sins is death and this man deserves to be punished. Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with out-stretched arms and proclaimed, However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted me as his Savior, so he is mine. My Lord continued with his name is written in the Book of Life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet, this man is not to be given justice but rather mercy. As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at his Father and replied, There is nothing else that needs to be done, Ive done it all. The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down and the following words bellowed from His lips=this man is free-the penalty for him has already been paid in full, case dismissed. As my Lord let me away I could hear Satan ranting and raving I wont give up, Ill win the next one. I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, have you ever lost a case? Christ lovingly smiled and said everyone that has come to me and asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, Paid in Full.
Only in America Only in America can a homeless combat veteran live in a cardboard box and a draft dodger live in the White House. Only in America can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance Only in America are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink. Only in America do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to their prescriptions. Only in America do people order double cheese burgers, a large fry, and a diet coke. Only in America do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters. Only in America do we leave cars worth thousands of dollar in the driveway and leave useless junk in the garage. Only in America do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we wont miss the call we didnt want in the first place. Only in America do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight. Only in America do we use the word politics to describe the process so well: poli in Latin meaning many and tics meaning bloodsucking creaturesK. Only in America do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering!
If tomorrow never comes If I knew it would be the last time That Id see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly And pray the lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time That I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and a kiss And call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time Id hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, So I could place them back day after day. If I knew it would the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two To stop and say I love you, Instead of assuming you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time, I would be there to share your day, Well Im sure youll have so many more, So I can let just this one slip away. For surely theres always tomorrow To make up for an oversight, And we always get a second chance To make everything right. There will always be another day To say our I love yous, And certainly theres another chance To say our anything I can dos? But just in case I might be wrong, And today is all I get, Id like to say how much I love you And I hope we never forget. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, Young or old alike, And today may be the last chance You get to hold your loved ones tight. So if youre waiting for tomorrow, Why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, Youll surely regret the day. That you didnt take that extra time For a smile, a hug, or a kiss And you were too busy to grant someone, What turned out to be their one last wish? So hold your loves ones close today, And whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them And that youll always hold them dear. Take time to say Im sorry, please forgive me Thank you, or its okay. And if tomorrow never comes, Youll have no regrets about today.
MEMO FROM GOD. I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help. If life happens to deliver a situation to you That you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD(something for God to do) Box. It will be addressed in my time, not yours. Once the matter is placed in the box, do not hold on to it. If you find yourself stuck in traffic; dont despair. There are people in this world for which driving is an unheard of privilege. Should you have a bad day at work; Think of the man who has been out of work for years. Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think of the person who has never known what its Like to love and be loved in return. Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve Hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children. Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk. Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror Think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine. Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what Is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didnt live long Enough to get the opportunity. Should you find yourself the victim of other peoples Bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; Remember, things could be worse. You could be them!!
Beauty of a woman The beauty of a woman Is not the clothes she wears The figure she carries Or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman Must be seen from her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, The place where love resides. The beauty of woman Is not in a facial mole, But true beauty in a woman Is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, The passion that she shows, The beauty of a woman With passing years-only grows.
To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad. It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for you happiness now come to you with no struggle or effort on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them-while they last. All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss any more. Life flows with ease.
Before U were thought of or time had begun, God even stuck U in the name of His Son. And each time U pray, youll see its true. You cant spell out JesUs and not include U. Youre a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; thats why He came. And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified. Isnt it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in his plan. The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, And this word resUrrection is spelled with a U. When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention. Go into the world and tell them its true That I love them all V just like I love U. So many great people are spelled with a U, Dont they have a right to know JesUs too? It all depends now on what U will do, Hed like them to know, but it all starts with U.
I believe I believe in the sun Though it is slow in rising I believe in you Without realizing I believe in love Though I dont know what it is I believe in happiness Though I never feel it. I believe in rain Though there are no clouds in the sky. I believe in you Even though you lie. I believe in peace Though I am always violent. I believe in God Though He is silent. -Angelica Marroquin
Remember when... Decisions were made by going eeny-meeny-miney-mo. Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, Do over! Race issue meant arguing about who ran the fastest. Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in monopoly. Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening. It wasnt odd to have two or three best friends Being old referred to anyone over 20. The net on a tennis court was the perfect height to play volleyball and rules didnt matter. The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties. It was magic when dad could remove his thumb I want to be a kid againK It was unbelievable that dodge ball wasnt an Olympic sport. Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot. Nobody was prettier than mom. Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better. It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to rid the big people rides at the amusement park. Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true. Abilities were discovered because of a double-dog-dare Saturday morning cartoons werent 30-minute ads for action figures No shopping trip was complete unless a new toy was brought home. Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles. The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team. War was a card game. Water balloons were the ultimate weapon. Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle. Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin. Ice cream was considered a major food group.
Ive learned- That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life. Ive learned that its taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. Ive learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving word. It may be the last time you see them. Ive learned-that you can keep going long after you cant. Ive learned-that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel. Ive learned-that either you control your attitude or it controls you. Ive learned-that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place. Ive learned-that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences. Ive learned-that money is a lousy way of keeping score. Ive learned-that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time. Ive learned-that sometimes the people you expect to kick you where youre down will be the ones to help you get back up. Ive learned-that sometimes when Im angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesnt give me the right to be cruel. Ive learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love. Ive learned that just because someone doesnt love you the way you want them to doesnt mean they dont love you with all they have. Ive learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences youve had and what youve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays youve celebrated. Ive learned-that your family wont always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you arent related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families arent biological. Ive learned,-that no matter how good a friend is, theyre going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that. Ive learned-that it isnt always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself. Ive learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesnt stop for your grief... Ive learned-that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. Ive learned-that just because two people argue, it doesnt mean they dont love each other. And just because they dont argue, it doesnt mean they do. Ive learned-that we dont have to change friends if we understand that friends change. Ive learned-that you shouldnt be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever. Ive learned-that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different. Ive learned-that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who dont even know you. Ive learned-that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help. Ive learned-that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being. Ive learned-that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
Hell is real I went into my classroom, Ready for another year at school. I didnt want the work, Just wanted to hang and be cool. I had on new clothes, new sneaks on my feet. I was there for class on time, Went to the back and took my seat. Yeah, Im moving up, Im already grown. Soon Ill be graduating, And out on my own. I talked to some of my friends, We were all having fun. Said some things I shouldnt have said, Did stuff I shouldnt have done. I knew I was different. I felt God touch my heart, I knew I should set a standard, But then Id be set apart. Walking to the bus, I was not looking for strength. I heard the car tires screeching, But now its too late. Im standing in this room, And I can see the heavenly gate. Oh no! I never prayed. I thought I had time to get it straight. An angel walked to me, He had a book in his hand. I knew it was the Book of Life, When would this dream end? I told him my name, And he began to look. Then he looked at me sadly and said, Your name is not in this book. Angel, this is a dream No, I cant be dead! He closed the book and turned away, He whispered V you cannot proceed ahead. No. no this cant be real, Angel, you cant turn me away. Let me talk to God, Maybe hell let me stay. He led me to the gate, Jesus came to me. He did not let me in but said, Beloved, what is your need? Jesus, I cried, please, Dont cast me away from you. Tears ran down his face as he said, You knew what you needed to do. Lord, please Im young, I never thought I would die. I thought Id have plenty of time, Death caught me by surprise. Lord, I went to church, Please Jesus, I believe. He said you would not accept me, My love you would not receive. Lord, there were too many hypocrites, They werent being true. He took a step back and asked, What does that have to do with you? Lord, my family claimed to be saved, They werent real. You know. He said, I died for you, Now I have to go. I fell to my knees crying to Him, Lord, I planned to be real tomorrow. I couldnt make Him understand, I had never V felt such sorrow. Then it hit me hard, I said, Lord, where will I go? He looked into my eyes and said, My child you already know. Please Jesus, I begged. The place is so hot. It seemed to trouble and grieve him, He whispered, DEPART FROM ME, I KNOW YOU NOT. Lord, youre supposed to be love, How can you send me to damnation? He replied, with your mouth you said you love me, But each day you rejected my salvation. With that in an instant, Day turned into night. I never knew such torture could be, Now too late, I know the Bible is right. If I can tell you anything, Hell has no age. It is a place of torture, Separated from God and full of rage. You know, I thought it was funny V a joke, But this one thing is true. If you never accept Jesus Christ, HELL IS WAITING FOR YOU!!
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the worlds going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the bible says. Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the bible says. Or is it scary? Funny how someone can say I believe in God but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also believes in God). Funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppresses in the school and workplace. Funny isnt it? Funny how someone can be so fired up fro Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. Are you laughing?
Death of an innocent I went to a party, mom, I remember what you said. You told me not to drink, mom, so I drank soda instead. I really felt proud inside, mom, the way you said I would. I didnt drink and drive, mom, even though the others said I should. I know I did the right thing, mom, I know you are always right. Now the party is finally ending, mom, as everyone is driving out of sight. As I got into my car, mom, I knew Id get home in one piece. Because of the way you raised me, so responsible and sweet. I started to drive away, mom, but as I pulled out into the road, The other car didnt see me, mom, and hit me like a load. As I lay there on the pavement, mom, I hear the policeman say, The other guy is drunk, mom, and now Im the one who will pay. Im lying here drying, mom, I wish youd get here soon. How could this happen to me, mom? My life just burst like a balloon. There is blood all around me, mom, and most of it is mine. I hear the medic say, mom, Ill die in a short time. I just wanted to tell you mom, I swear I didnt drink. It was the others mom. The other didnt think. He was probably at the same party as I. The only difference is, he drank and I will die. Why do people drink, mom? It can ruin your whole life. Im feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife. The guy who hit me is walking, mom, and I dont think its fair. Im lying here drying and alls he can do is stare. Tell my brother not to cry, mom. Tell daddy to be brave. And when I go to heaven, mom, put daddys girl on m y grave. Someone would have told him, mom, not to drink and drive. If only they had told him, mom, I would still be alive. My breath is getting shorter, mom, Im becoming very scared. Please dont cry for me, mom. When I needed you, you were always there. I have one last question, mom, before I say goodbye. I didnt drink and drive, so why am I the one to die?
Life Life isnt about keep score. Its not about who many friends you have Or how accepted you are. Not about if you have plans this weekend or if youre alone. It isnt about who youre dating, who you used to date, how many people youve dated, or if you havent been with any at all. It isnt about who you have kissed. Its not about sex. It isnt about who your family is or how much money they have. Or what kind of car you drive. Or where you are sent to school. Its not about how beautiful or ugly you are. Or what clothes you wear, what shoes you have on, or what kind of music you listen to. Its not about if your hairs blonde, red, black, or brown Or if your skin is too light or too dark. Not about what grades you get, how smart you are, how smart everybody else thinks you are, or smart standardized tests say you are. Its not about what clubs youre in or how good you are at your sport. Its not about representing your whole being on a piece of paper and who will accept the written you. LIFE JUST ISNT But, life is about who you love and who you hurt. Its about who you make happy or unhappy purposefully Its about keeping or betraying trust. Its about friendship, used as a sanctity or a weapon. Its about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening. About starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip. Its about what judgment you pass and why. And who your judgments are spread to. Its about who youve ignored with full control and intention. Its about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge. Its about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow, and spreading it. But most of all, its about using your life to touch or poison other peoples hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone. Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what lifes all about.
11 things in life: defiantly worth reading 1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel. 2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go. 3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation youve ever had. 4. its true that we dont know what weve got until we lose it, but its also true that we dont know what weve been missing until it arrives. 5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. 6. Dont go for looks; they can deceive. Dont go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. 7. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do... 8. Always put yourself in the others shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too. 9. A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless. 10. Thehappiest of people dont necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. 11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you are born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, youre the one smiling and every one around you is crying.
Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round, Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterflys erratic flight, Or gazed at the sun into the fading night? You better slow down, Dont dance so fast, Time is short, The music wont last. Do you run though eachday on the fly? When you ask, How are you? Do you hear the reply? When the day is done, Do you lie in your bed, With the next hundred chores, Running through your head? Youd better slowdown, Dont dance so fast, Time is short, The music wont last. Ever told your child, Well do it tomorrow, And in your haste, Not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die, Cause you never had time, To call and say hi. Youd better slow down, Dont dance so fast, Time is short, The msuic wont last. When you run so fast to get somewhere, You miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry though your day, It is like an unopened giftKthrown awayK Life is not a race, Do take it slower. Hear the music, Before the song is over.
Tell me why Please god tell me why? Friends have to die. Its not fair and its not right. Oh god, why that night? I didnt think life could end so fast They were so young but their years didnt last. Now its to late to say goodbye. Please god, tell me why? Even if there souls are free Now there dreams can never be. Teens arent supposed to die. I need an answer, god, please tell me why? Maybe life isnt what it seems, And not all teens get there dreams I know we're all meant to someday die. Still god, I have to ask you why?
Friends forever, she said. Friends forever, he said. Eight years old and they made the vow to remain friends forever. I need some room, she said. Ill back away, he said. Ten years old and they made the vow to give each other space. Does Tommy like me? she asked. Ill find out, he said. Twelve years old and he made the vow to find out if tommy liked her. He doesnt love me anymore, she said. He doesnt deserve you, he said. Fourteen years old and he made the vow to love her forever. Nobody loves me, she said. i know someone who does, he said. Sixteen years old and he made the vow to love her forever. Im getting married, she said. Ill be there, he said. Eighteen years old and he made the vow to forever hold his peace.I got divorced yesterday, she said.Im here for you, he said. Twenty years old and he made the vow to be therefore her forever. Why doesnt anyone love me? she asked. I have always loved you, he said. Twenty-two years old and he made the vow to keep on loving her. I could never love you, she said. I could never stop, he said. Twenty-four years old and he made the vow to never love again. I can never see you again, she said. i can never live again, he said. Twenty-six years old and he made the vow to never live again.Im sorry, she said. Twenty-eight years old and he made the vow as he lay in an open casket.
I asked God to grant me patience. God said, no. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; is isnt granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said, no. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said, no. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, no. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, no. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God saidKAhhhh, finally you have the idea.
What would you do if every time you fell in love you had to say good-bye? What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there? What would you do, if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt? What would you do if you loved someone more than ever and you couldnt have them? Some people love, and some people die. But I want to tell you I love you, and you are a true friend. If I died tomorrow, you would be in my heart. Would I be in your?
Have you ever noticed that the worst way to miss someone is when they are right beside you and yet you can never have themK.when the moment you cant feel them under your fingertips you miss them? Have you ever wondered which hurts the most; saying something and wishing you had not, or saying nothing and wishing you had? I guess the most important things are the hardest things to say. Dont be afraid to tell someone you love them. If you do, they might break your heartKbut if you dont, you might break theirs. Have you ever decided not to become a couple because you were so afraid of losing what you already had with that person? Your heart decides who it likes and who it doesnt. You cant tell your heart what to do. It does it on its ownKwhen you least suspect it, or even when you dont want it to. Have you ever wanted to love someone with everything you had, but that other person was too afraid to let you? Too many of us stay walled because we are too afraid to care too muchKfor fear that the other person does not care as much, for at all. Have you ever loved someone and they had absolutely no idea whatsoever? Or feel for your best friend in the entire world, and then sat around and watched him/her fall for someone else? Have you ever denied your feelings for someone because your fear of rejection was too hard to handle? We tell lies when we are afraidKafraid of what we dont know, afraid what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lieKthe thing we fear grows stronger. Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. Dont be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have, or could have had. No one waits forever.
The road to success is not straight, There is a curve called failure. A loop called confusion... Speed bumps called friendsK Red lights called enemies... Caution light called family... You have flats called jobs butK If you have a spare called determination... An engine called perseverance... Insurance called faith... A driver called Jesus... You will make it to a place called success!
If we could shrink the earths population to a village of precisely100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following: There would be: 57 Asians 21europeans 14 from the western hemisphere, both north and south 8africans 52 would be female 48 would be male 70 would be non-white 30wouldbe white 70would be non-Christian 30 would be Christian 89 would be heterosexual 11 would be homosexual 6 people would possess 59% of the entire worlds wealth and all 6 would be from the United States. 80would live in substandard housing. 70wouldbeunabletoread 50 would suffer from malnutrition 1wouldbenear death; 1would be near birth 1(yes, only1) would have a college education 1 would own a computer When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.
The following is also something to ponderK If you woke up this morning with more health than illnessKyou are most blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvationKyou are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessedthan three billionpeople in theworld. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleepKyou are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplaceKyou are among the top 8% of the worlds wealthy. If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada. If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankfulKyou are blessed because the majority can, but most do not. If you can hold someones hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulderKyou are blessed because you can offer healing touch.
Do not undermine your worth By comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Do not set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you. Do not take for granted the Things closest to your heat. Cling to them as you would your life, For without them, life is meaningless. Do not let your life slip though your fingers by living in the past nor for the future. By living your life one day at a time, You live all the days of your life. Do not give up when you have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you Stop trying. It is fragile thread that binds us To each other. Do not be afraid of encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave. Do not shut love out of your life By saying it is impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give love. The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly Do not dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope. To be without hope is to be without purpose. Do not run through life so fast that you Forget not only where you have been But also where you are going. Life is not a race but a journey To be savored each step of the way.
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the homes weathly family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the manisions guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "things arent always what they seem the next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good nights rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, as he accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die. Things arent always what they seem, the older angel replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in the hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall, so he wouldnt find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things arent always what they seem. "Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things dont turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until sometime laterK..
