Jeri' and Obo'
Two eggs started rocking at once. Through the widening cracks of the larger one, brown hide could be seen. The little brown broke free and at nearly the same moment a green emerged from her own shell. The brown stood slowly shaking the sand off his wings with care. The green however didnt waste her time she leapt forward bounding towards the canidates. But she was moving too fast and tripped on her own feet. She ducked her head and rolled forward to land at the feet of Jericonialituianith. The large blue looked down at the sprawled form between his paws.
Hi, Jericonialituianith. Im Obonixtenathramarth, the green said cheerily.
The blue glanced over at Abyss as he helped the green to her feet. Im afraid youll have to find someone else to be your guide, the dragon said to the blind girl.
I will help her, a gentle voice said. Jeri' paused briefly to watch the small brown nuzzle the girl he'd been keeping safe, then he turned to the little green who was looking up at him with adoration and curiousness in her eyes.
Jeri gave her a dragon-grin, then lead her off towards the lower caverns, feeling bemused as Obo began firing off questions quicker than Jeri could answer.
Wait... she's saying what now?"
Ch'ron sighed, and attempted to re-explain what his bond had informed him of only moments before to the Weyrwoman. "She says her clutch... will not bond at it's hatching." The green rumbled assertively, hovering over the eight precious orbs she had lain. "Why not? How does she know this?" He sighed again. Were all weyrwomen this stubborn? "She says because she won't let them. Both she and Jericonialituianith were abandoned by their first bonds, and they refuse to let this happen to their children."
Caligoth growled softly and Jeri' nodded, keeping his rambunctious new bond Obonixtenathramarth gently restrained in his claws. Kayla crossed her arms in front of herself and scowled at the green. "So... she won't let them bond..." The man nodded, "I kind of understand it myself...", he began, but was cut off by Jeri'.
"We just don't want them to go through the same pain we did. To be abandoned by one's bond... it hurts beyond belief. Both she and I want to be sure each candidate will love and care for their bond before we allow them to."
Kayla threw her hands in the air. "Alright, I guess I can't stop you... but please make sure they do find the right bonds. We don't need anymore abandonments, one is tragic enough." She smiled empathetically at Jeri', DIW's very first abandoned dragon. Caligoth flared her wings protectively over the eight eggs. We certainly will, Weyrwoman...
Jeri was relaxing contentedly on the ledge of his and Obo's new home. The ceremony that marked Obo as an official adult had been about a month ago, and Jeri had been considering joining his dear friend R'hiin at his home, Nidus Otykaii.
He, being himself, had not yet breached the subject with Obo, as the rambunxious green would likely agree to whatever Jeri suggested without thinking. And not just because Jeri suggested it, she would agree because it was new.
However, just as Jeri thought that he'd finally come to the proper conclusion Obo stated, I'm going to rise.
Which of course, threw all of Jeri's plans out the window, "What?!"
I'm going to rise, she stated, unperterbed by Jeri's outburst. And I think I shall do it at Lantessama Isle.

And so it was. Within a week Jeri and Obo were found themselves on Lantessama Isle and Obo was signed up on the boards. Jeri, who had no interest in chasing his bond, had settled in to wait for her flight to happen, ready to lounge around and work on his manouvering if the fancy struck him. Since Jeri was large for a blue, he wasn't as agile as his smaller brothers, but he did have more stamina than them. And Jeri's success at his last chase had brought him confidence, he was idyly looking for a female to chase, but was in no great hurry about it.
Then he saw her.
She was Blinding Hope Naderenya.
Jeri immidiately put himself on the board for her flight. However, he didn't approach her just yet. He, ever the cautious one, desided that he would wait to see how she reacted to the other males that came to court her. Then he would learn from their mistakes, and hopefully woo her with his gallantary.
That was the plan, anyway.
Obo is rising and Jeri is chasing at Lantessama Isle.
