The Northwest Arctic Borough is the Alaska State Troopers (Kotzebue Post) Patrol Area. It is comprimised of 35,898 square miles (571,951 total for Alaska). With 7,344 people in the Borough that equals about 0.2 persons per square mile. Most of the people in the Borough do reside in one of the eleven villages.
