Welcome to the Kempton Hotel, located in Prairie County, Southeastern Montana.
This hotel was built in 1902 near the scenic Montana Badlands, and the addition to the hotel was completed in 1913. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Terry.
The Kempton Hotel is quickly approaching 40,000 continuous nights of operation, having never closed its doors once.
Martha Kempton served dinners in the Hotel, as well as at the Kempton Ranch, until 1947. She served dinner for her guests on the main floor of the hotel, who are rumored to have included the likes of Teddy Roosevelt and Calamity Jane.
The current owners have kept the hotel in its original decor and are working to restore it back to its original grand condition. This beautiful hotel has a room waiting for you!
There is an antique store on the premises as well. Stop by and pick up a souvenir or two on your way through.
Directions
