There were a lot more animals than just zebras and giraffes. There were a bunch of different type of deer and goats, etc... I had to pull out my animal identification sheet to find the names of the animals but I think I have gotten them all right...
Don't forget to check out the videos below!!!
The Goats!!
Mommy and Seth in front of Truck (when we stopped to go to petting zoo)
European Red Deer (wanted to give Daddy a great big slobbery KISS!!!)
Greater Kudu
Roan
Gemsbok (with a broken horn)
another gemsbok
Feeding Greater Kudu - blackbuck in background (I think)
The ostrich (hey!! I didn't have to look him up :-) )
VIDEOS!!! We got a lot of video of Seth in the petting zoo!! He really had fun!! Here are some snippets
1) EMU - something to point out on this snippet - make sure you have your speakers up. When the video first plays you will hear a low grunt - that is the EMU making that sound. You will then hear Seth mimic the grunt as he points to the emu. You will then hear the Emu grunt again. This emu was making this noise as we were walking over there and Seth just started mimicing him. It was so cute (yet I don't think the emu really liked it - he eventually rubbed his chest feathers against the fence at us - didn't seem like too friendly of a gesture)
2) Goat 1 - Several times Seth would do as he is doing in this snippet - go up and sit next to a sitting goat. It was so cute!
3) Goat 3 - notice the goat as Seth walks up to him...he puts his head down...Daniel and I laughed at this...it was like he has had his goatee pulled several times and was going to make sure that Seth did not pull it! |
