Personality Enishi can be know to be cool and calm and suddenly turn to a total psycho! He's the kind of person that hears voices in his head and talks back to them. Only his voice is the voice of his dead sister, Tomoe. He is faced with the harsh childhood when his only reletive has been killed by Hitokiri. Enishi did not have any real perents. With his mother died and his father missing the only person that was left was his sister. But after her death, Enishi promised to bring vengence to Hitokiri. I believe Enishi to be a man of his word and there are suggestions to a soft spot for Kaoru.
Background After Hitokiri’s and Tomoe’s marrige, Enishi meets his elder sister and has his first encounter with Hitokiri. Enishi hated Tomoe’s previous engagement and really hated her involvement with Hitokiri. Upon his visit, he spied on Tomoe and hired some assassins. He really despised Hitokiri and bit him every change he got. Later on, Enishi left and returned rather ill-timed to see his dear sister get slashed by Hitokiri’s Katana while fighting with her assassins Enishi hired. Poor Enishi was left thinking that Hitokiri killed his sister on purpose. He swore to come back and avenge his sister's death He wondered around for a while until he was found and adopted by a rich family. But, Enishi, jealous of their happiness, killed them all and used their riches to get his start in the crime ring. Soon enough he became the big Mafia boss, in fact I think he was the one who sold that big battle ship to Shishio. When Enishi returned all grown up he gathered eight "comrades" that each hated Kenshin just as much as he and formed a group called "Junchuu," meaning revenge. His plan was to make Kenshin live through the same hell as he did when his sister died. Enishi planned to murder the person that was the closest to him, Kaoru. He took Kaoru and stashed her on his secret island and had Mr. Gein make a life sized doll of Kaoru to make Kenshin believe she was murdered by Enishi. Everyone believed that the doll was really the real Kaoru and she was buried. Kenshin was devastated and the Kenshin-gumi began to fall apart. Sanosuke ventured off and the rest of them hard their hands full trying to keep the Kamiya Dojo alive. To make this story short, Aoshi discovers that the buried Kaoru is really a puppet and the gumi all go out to save the real one. Ensihi and Keshin have their big fight, Kenshin wins. (Enishi stumbles after seeing Tomoe's image, allowing Kenshin to perform the needed blow.) After that, Enishi was arrested and then broke out of jail. The last we see of him is when he sits down by an old man, who turns out to be Enishi's father.
