Personality Katsura was a man who was very devoted to the Ishishishi movement and he was part of the heart and soul of the organization. He is a cunning and intelligent man, as well as an integral part of the Ishinshishi.
Background Katsura and other Ishishishi lears, including Takasugi Shinsaku studied under Yoshida Shouin who taight them to lead a revolt against the Edo Bakufu. Katsura emerged as the leader of the Choushuuhan Ishishishi and Battousai's boss. He has Shinsaku as second in command. One day Katsura was called to a lovation outside of Kyoto by Shinsaku where they held try outs for the Ishishishi army. These tryouts consisted of men who supported the Ishishishi and had great skills in fighting, Shinsaku called the army Kiheitai. They witness a young boy with red hair, Kenshin, cut a large log in half ad Katsura, amazed by his skill, has Shinsaku bring Kenshin to Kyoto where he would work for them as an assassin.
