Personality Yumi is a woman with honor and years of living with powerful and corrupted officials turned her into a very sarcastic, bitter and extremely sour. What was left of tenderness and faith in her heart is placed into Shishio. Shishio became her lover and protector. Even though she seems so harsh on the outside she is a very gentle woman.
Backround History Before Yumi met Shishio she was what was known as a yuukaku which is something like an escort, but not necessarily a prostitute. She was a very famous one too, as it seems even rich and important men had a hard time of seeing her. (Yumi was once the best in Shnyoshinra, so popular that even a high-ranking official couldn't get near her. She hated the way the Meiji government treated prostitutes) After the Meiji government made the yuukaku illegal Yumi was forced to leave and somehow met up with Shishio. She never found any happiness until she met Shishio.She loves him with all her heart, so much that she was willing to sacrifice everything for him, even her life. She did not know how to fight and ended up placing herself between Shishio and Kenshin during their fight and begged Kenshin not to hurt Shishio anymore. Shishio took this opportunity and pierced a sword through her body, and wounding Kenshin. Yumi did not feel betrayed but is instead glad that she was useful to him. She last words were "I am glad. This is the first time that I am useful to Shishio-sama and it's an important fight every time Soujiro and Kamatari go out and fight, I could only tend to your health I have been frustrated with myself but now please win, Shishio-sama Yumi will be waiting in the afterworld." Yumi is Shishio's most devoted follower, and totally in love with him (surprisingly enough Shishio is also in love with her too!) She would do anything she could to make him happy, and even though he is more than able to take care of himself and handle almost any situation she is constantly worrying about him. Their mutual hatred of the government made them perfect for eachother and she became totally involved in Shishio's plot for taking over Japan. She follows Shishio to the last battle to make sure that the battle doesn't last more than 15 minutes.
