SPIKE: If I had this chip out of my head, I'd have killed you long ago. Ain't love grand?
WILLOW: Uh, Angel? If I say something you really don't wanna hear, do you promise not to bite me?
ANGEL: Are you gonna tell me that I'm jealous?
WILLOW: Well, you do sometimes get that way.
SPIKE: I don't understand. This sort of thing has never happened to me before.
WILLOW: Maybe you were nervous.
SPIKE: I felt alright when it started. Let's try it again. [tries to bite Willow and backs off screaming in pain] Damn it! what's wrong with me?
WILLOW: Maybe you're trying too hard. Doesn't this happen to every vampire?
SPIKE: Not to me it doesn't!
WILLOW: It's me, isn't it?
SPIKE: What are you talking about?
WILLOW: Well, you came here looking for Buffy, and settled. You didn't want to bite me, I just happened to be around.
SPIKE: Piffle!
WILLOW: I know I'm not the kind of girl vamps like to sink their teeth into. It's always "ooh, you're like a sister to me," or "oh, we're such good friends."
SPIKE: Don't be ridiculous. I'd bite you in a heartbead.
WILLOW: That doesn't make you any more scary.
SPIKE: Don't patronize me. I'm only 126 years old!
WILLOW: You're being too hard on yourself. Why don't we wait half an hour and try again? - "THE INITIATIVE"
ANGELUS: [narrorating] Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping, waiting. Although unwanted, unbidden, it will stir, open its jaws, and howl. It speaks to us, guides us. Passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have?
Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love, the clarity of haterid, and the ecstacy of grief. It hurts sometimes, more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hallow... empty rooms... shuttered and dank. WIthout passion, we'd be truly dead. - "PASSION"
GILES: Holding what they know hostage, with a gun pointed at my bleeding green card no less. It's humiliating.
BUFFY: Also smart. They picked the perfect thing. I can't lose you.
WHISTLER: [narrorating] There are moments in our lives that make us, that set the course of who we're going to be. Sometimes they're little, suttle moments. Sometimes, they're not. I'll show you what I mean.
The bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. So what are we? Helpless puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you really are. You'll see what I mean. - "BECOMING" PART 1
BUFFY: We're talking about two very powerful witches and a thousand-year-old ex-demon.
ANYA: Willow's a demon?
BUFFY: [pretending to be the Buffybot] Why did you let that Glory hurt you?
SPIKE: She wanted to know who the key was.
BUFFY: Oh, well, I can tell her, and then you'll-
SPIKE: No! You can't never. Glory never finds out.
BUFFY: Why?
SPIKE: 'Cause Buffy... the other, not so pleasant Buffy... anything happened to Dawn, it'd destroy her. I couldn't live, her being in that much pain. Let Glory kill me first. Nearly bloody did.
ANGEL: I'm trying to think with my head instead of my heart.
BUFFY: Heart? You have a heart? It's not even beating.
ANGEL: Buffy, please don't.
BUFFY: Don't what? Don't love you? I'm sorry, no one told me I had a choice! I can't just change - I'll never change. I want my life to be with you.
ANGEL: I don't. - "THE PROM"
BUFFY: Every now and then people surprize you.
GILES: [taking her umbrella and looking behind her at Angel] Every now and then. - "THE PROM"
JENNY (as THE FIRST): You were born to hurt her. Have you learned nothing? As long as you're alive -
ANGEL: Then I'll die.
JENNY: You don't have the strength to kill yourself.
ANGEL: I don't need strength. I just need the sun to rise. - "AMENDS"
BUFFY: How did you find me here?
ANGEL: If I was blind, I would see you.
BUFFY: Stay with me.
ANGEL: Forever. That's the whole point. I'll never leave. Not even if you kill me. - "ANNE"
BUFFY: I invited you into my home. And then you attacked my family.
ANGEL: Why not? I killed mine. I killed their friends and their friends' children. For a hundred years, I offered an ugly death to everyone I met. And I did it with a song in my heart. You have no idea what it's like to have done the things I've done... and to care. - "ANGEL"
ANGELUS: We're about to make history... end. - "BECOMING" PART 1
ANGELUS: You can't do it. You can't kill me.
BUFFY: [kicks Angelus between the legs] Give me time. - "INNOCENCE"
GILES: In my years as a Watcher, I've buried... too many people. Some I knew... most I didn't. Jenny is the first one that I've loved.
BUFFY: I'm sorry I couldn't kill him for you... for her... when I had the chance. I wasn't ready. But I think I finally am. I can't hold on to the past anymore. Angel is gone. Nothing's ever gonna bring him back. "PASSION"
GILES: Go on, put your back into it! A watcher scoffs at gravity!
