Won't Leave You Alone
Part 2
By Keiko
A few days later, Taichi was lounging in front of his computer, doing absolutely nothing.  He thought back to his fight with Yamato and heaved a big sigh.  It was dumb of him to say all the things he did.  He knew that he shouldn't have said that particular bit when Yamato was leaving, but it was the only thing he knew that could hurt Yamato.  Once, in the digital world, Yamato had broken down one night and confessed to Taichi that he hated being alone and helpless.  Taichi had seen a side of Yamato that he had never seen before, and promised that he'd always be there for him.  That was before Cherrymon got to Yamato.  After their battles, they'd become best friends, and Taichi kept his word of always being there for Yamato.
"Argh!!  I'm such a dumbass!" Taichi clutched his head.  Then another thing hit him; he also had a fight with Sora over a hairpin.  ~Great, I have my two best friends mad at me.  What's wrong with me lately?!~ Disgusted with himself, he decided to email Sora to apologize.
"To Sora, I'm sorry; get over it, Tai" he mumbled as he hit the last button. "There, that should do it.  Agh!  How did that heart get in there?!"
"Onichan~!  What are you doing?" Hikari wandered up behind him, holding something behind her back.
"Hi-Hikari!" Taichi frantically tried to cover up the screen with his hands, "Wha-what are you doing here?"

Yamato flicked on the TV and began flipping through the channels.  Takeru sat next to him, sipping the iced tea their grandmother made for them.  News; soap opera; talk show; anime; cooking show...
     "Aha!  A baseball game!"
Their mother had hoped that sending the kids to the country would keep them from watching TV too much, but their grandmother had neglected to mention, in her old age, that she did have a TV.  Yamato and Takeru were delighted with the discovery,  since there was absolutely nothing to do in the country.

"Okay, one down, one to go." Taichi stared at the phone, eyes narrowed in thought.  "......" Picking up the phone, he began to dial Yamato's number.  Halfway through, he slammed the phone down in its cradle and gasped for a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.  ~Damn, apologizing to Yamato is harder and scarier than I thought.~  Feeling his face burn up, he quickly walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge.  Sticking his head inside, he let his face cool down before heaving a huge sigh and looking up at his mother, "Mom... can I make a complaint?"

"Here you go children." The old woman set a plate of something unidentifiable on the small table in front of Yamato and Takeru.  Takeru's stomach grumbled and he exclaimed in delight at the sight of the... food.  Yamato looked at the plate in horror.  ~What IS that stuff?!  Is it even edible?!~ His next thought popped up almost without warning. ~I bet Taichi would eat it though...~ He immediately shoved Taichi out of his mind, already filled with guilt.  His attention was caught by the TV, where the score of one of the teams was rising rapidly, without explanation.

*Ding Dong*  *Bam bam bam bam bam*
Taichi reached the door just as Koushiro opened it.  The little redhead was breathing heavily.
"Koushiro, you're all sweaty, what's wrong?" Taichi stared.
Panting, the boy replied, "Well, it's about the egg!"
     "Huh?" Taichi looked surprised.
     "The egg is already hatched!"
"Uh..." Taichi looked stupidly at the chicken egg he was holding delicately between two fingers.
"Oh not that egg!  A digiegg!" Koushiro practically shouted at his less-than-bright former leader.

Disclaimers: Digimon doesn't belong to me, as much as I would love a Gatomon, or a Gomamon, or a Taichi or a Yamato... ^_^;  It belongs to dumb Toei, which in my opinion, completely ruined the ending of season 2.

Keiko's rants: As you might have noticed, I skipped parts of the movie.  I didn't feel like writing in parts that I didn't feel had anything to do with my story.
