Won't Leave You Alone Part 1 By Keiko
"Do not!" "Do too!" "Do not!!!" "DO TOO!!!" "Why you-" Taichi lunged at Yamato, hands reaching for his neck. The two rolled around the room, each trying to pin the other down and give him a good socking. Hikari sighed as she watched her brother and his best friend engage in another one of their infamous fights. Takeru, next to her, rolled his eyes, "There they go again. Why do they always fight?" The two in question were leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. After a few more minutes of brawling, Yamato finally pinned Taichi beneath him and proceeded to shake him by his collar. "DO TOO!!!" Hikari and Takeru sweatdropped. They knew better than to interfere. What had started it all was merely a simple discussion on their battle with Piedmon in the digital world. Taichi had commented jokingly that Yamato had left him all alone to deal with Piedmon while he went off to get in touch with himself and that it was Yamato's fault that he and Wargreymon were hurt so badly. Yamato, however, took this the wrong way and snapped back that finding himself was the more important issue at the time. Taichi got pissed off and asked Yamato mockingly if the he was more important than Taichi and the fate of the world, and Yamato, in anger, replied that why yes, he was. That was when the insults started. Words spoken in anger left marks on both, and an innocent visit between friends was soon turned into an ugly confrontation between the two proud boys. After they ran out of insults, they had reduced to arguing like little kids, using the I-can-yell-louder-than-you-can method to settle their dispute. Taichi ran out of patience first and initiated the fight. Yamato was done shaking Taichi and stood up, huffing angrily. He grabbed his stuff, and headed towards to door, snapping at his brother, "Come on Takeru, we're leaving!" Takeru threw an apologetic glance at Hikari before scrambling after his older brother. Taichi jumped off the floor and yelled furiously, "Yeah, get outta here, you cold unfeeling bastard! See if I ever come to your rescue! Then you'll see what it's like to be all alone and helpless!!" Yamato stiffened at these words, but continued out the door. Taichi stomped off to his room, face red with anger. When Yamato and Takeru arrived at their mother's house, Yamato had calmed down considerably. He began to regret some of the things he had said, and already felt like going back to apologize. What Taichi said was true; it was his fault that his best friend and his digimon had suffered such extensive injuries. No human could withstand a digimon's attack, yet Taichi braved the attacks of Piedmon, all the while waiting for him to come save him. He had let Taichi down then, even if he had gotten there in the end. He had left his best friend all alone when he needed him, and he had doubted him even when Taichi had trusted him all those times. Yamato mentally tortured himself with thoughts and memories of the time he had challenged Taichi, of the times he had insulted Taichi, of all the times he failed Taichi by not being there. Taichi had such faith in him, but he, the "cold and unfeeling bastard" that he was, didn't return the same feelings. Yamato groaned, his head sliding down to hit the kitchen table. His mother glanced at him curiously, and Takeru had a feeling he knew what Yamato was thinking. "Oh, Yamato, Takeru, your grandmother called. She wants you guys to visit her in the country." Ms. Takaishi beamed at them. "How about it? It'll be fun and a perfect chance for you to get away from the city for a while." Takeru looked hopefully at Yamato, who just shrugged. "Sure, why not?" Yamato replied. ~Hiding from Taichi's not the best idea, but at least it'll keep me from running into him for now.~
Disclaimers: Digimon doesn't belong to me, as much as I would love a Gatomon, or a Gomamon, or a Taichi or a Yamato... ^_^; It belongs to dumb Toei, which in my opinion, completely ruined the ending of season 2. Note: This story is basically my (twisted) version of the second Digimon movie "Bokura no War Game." (At least I think that's what it's called) When I was watching the movie (the sucky English version), I wondered why Yamato didn't pick up Taichi's call, even though it seemed like he knew it was Taichi. So, without further blabbing, I present Won't Leave Me Alone, my own twisted version of the 2nd Digimon movie.
