| At the banquet, each fairy bestowed a gift upon the baby princess. Afura Mann was first. She touched the princess' forehead with her wand, and said, "I give you the gift of knowledge. May you always love reading and learning. You will be renowned for your wisdom." "Ugh! What a useless gift," said Miz. Afura Mann, face full of popping veins, clenched her fist and said sarcastically, "Let's just see how much better you can do." "Watch and learn," said Miz. "I give you the gift of everlasting beauty, may you never have any wrinkles or pimples, or zits, or moles, or freckles, or excess hair, or squinty eyes, or snubby nose, or blubber, or...(half an hour later)...or broken nails, or limp hair, or bad eyesight, or big ears, or?," "Are you done yet, Miz?!" Shayla interrupted. "The rest of us are waiting!" Miz turned her nose up, "Well, I'm just making sure that the girl has no problems with her appearance in the future?," "?like you do?" asked Shayla snidely. "How rude! I do not have problems with my appearance." "Oh yeah? So then what's with those wrinkles on your ugly face?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kei-chan: As much as I'm enjoying this, I have to interrupt. You're digressing from the story. Control yourselves! Now, back to the story. Who's next? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The fairy Nanami hopped onto the platform, "I get to go next! I bestow upon you the gift of self-efficiency. May you always be as good at making money as I am." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kei-chan: (muttering) Let's hope that she's also not as obsessed with money as you are... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The obnoxious good fairy Fatora shoved Nanami aside and said loudly, "My turn." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Allielle: Oh Fatora, I just know you're going to bless Ifurita with a wonderful gift. You're soooooooo kindhearted and generous and? Kei-chan: Okay, cut it out already. If I have to hear any more of these lies I'll puke for sure. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I bestow upon you the gift of having as many admirers as you wish, but not as many as me, of course," said Fatora. Next, Rune Venus stepped up to the cradle, "I give you the gift of being forever graceful." She stepped down and looked around, "I wonder who's next." Shayla shoved Mr.Fujisawa forward. He put down the wine jug he was guzzling from, looked around uneasily, and said with awkward difficulty, "I, uh, hic, uh, give you the, hic, marvelous gift of, hic, being able to drink and smoke more than anyone else. May you always love alcohol and?," Bonk! At this point, Miz threw a golden bowl at Mr.Fujisawa. The contents of the bowl slid down Mr.Fujisawa's puzzled and stupefied face as Miz screeched, "What are you trying to do, you idiot? Turn Ifurita into an alcoholic and a drug addict? Especially after I made her so beautiful, you're going to add a pot-belly and baggy eyes?" Mr.Fujisawa shrank under Miz's furious glare. "All right! All right! I'll change it to a beautiful voice. Pretty as a lark, happy?" Suddenly, a gust of wind blew open the door of the Great Hall. The candles went out, and a dark figure swirled into the Hall. It was Jinnai, the wicked fairy. |
