Second Chances Part 8 by Keiko Disclaimers no da! I don't own Fushigi Yuugi or its characters, though I wish I did. God, I wish I did... okay, well anyway, on with the story. This part mostly covers the Seiryuu Shichiseishi.
"Ayuru-chan! Koutoka-chan! It's time to go to your music lessons!" "Coming, Mother." Ayuru rose gracefully to his feet from where he had been reading a book. Koutoka glanced at the book and wasn't surprised to find it titled Medieval Torturing Devices. Ayuru turned at the door and stared at Koutoka coolly. "It's time to go, Amiboshi," he said. Koutoka glared at him, "I told you not to call me that at home, Nakago. Just because you turned out to be my older twin brother doesn't mean you're still my boss." Nakago smiled smugly, "Yes, but at least I stayed a guy, ne?" Amiboshi huffed and turned her back on Nakago. ~I can't believe Seiryuu turned me into a girl! I can't believe I'm related to Nakago! Still, he's changed. I can tell, having a caring mother and a normal childhood must have affected him somehow~ She thought. ~I wonder where Suboshi is... I miss him so much.~ *********************** "Chuin, I want to sent you to Tokyo for high school." "Nani, otosan? Why?" Chuin looked at his father in surprise. His father sighed, "You're definitely not interested in fishing, so there's no way you'll become a fisherman like me. I want you to have your own life, so I want you to go to Tokyo to get an education. Maybe you can make something of yourself, instead of loafing around here. I don't want you to waste your life." Chuin looked at his feet. He nodded silently, then said, "I'm going to the beach. I'll be back for dinner." He ran off towards the sea, not waiting for an answer. As he walked along the beach, he stopped here and there to pick up random clamshells. He had such a fascination with them, ever since he was a child. Maybe it was because he had been born with one in his hand. He pulled that particular clam out of his hand to stare at it. It was very old, and he always carried it with him. There was something about it that was very mysterious, like a buried memory of some sort... *********************** "Kaen-chan, brush your hair and go to sleep." Kaen braided her hair into coils above her head. She silently crawled into bed next to her sister. Being in such a large family sometimes made her feel as if she wasn't loved enough. In fact, her parents hadn't even bothered to ask her where she wanted to go for high school. She wished that there were someone who would love her as much as she needed, someone to save her from this family who didn't care enough. Outside, a storm was brewing. Kaen climbed out of bed and went onto the balcony. She loved storms, especially thunderstorms. She felt such a thrill whenever the thunder rolled and the lightning flashed. As she stood on the balcony, lightning snaked terribly close by, yet she felt no fear. Instead, there was almost a feeling of security in the lightning's incredible power. *********************** "Shunkaku! Do your chores right now or you're grounded for a week! After that, go study for your entrance exams for high school! God knows you need to study!" "Yes Mother..." Shunkaku sighed and put away his yo-yo. He rubbed his eyes tiredly. Lately, he's been feeling really weird. Every time he turns around, he finds himself looking for someone. Who? He doesn't even know. A ghost, perhaps? Or maybe it's just his tired brain conjuring up strange things. ~It feels like something is missing...~ he mused. *********************** Seiryuu licked his lips nervously. He knew that here had to be a way to get out of his prison. He just had to find the weak spot in Suzakus barrier... There was definitely a weakness somewhere in the walls of the sphere. He knew there was. No god could have complete control over another god without unbalancing the nature of the universe. Therefore there was always a way out. Not to mention the fact that he's done this numerous times before. He narrowed his eyes. Ahh, there it is, glowing faintly in his mind. Seiryuu concentrated his powers. Suzaku didn't even notice as Seiryuu broke out of his prison with practiced ease.
Keiko's rant: Surprise, surprise! I made Nakago and Amiboshi related! And Amiboshi is a girl!! *wind blows by, silence* ^_^;; okay, I know it's stupid, but I thought it might be interesting to have Amiboshi and Suboshi not be related, and since Nakago was the only other seishi with blond hair... Okay, on to the other seishi. Yeah, I know, Tomo's getting abandoned by his family all over again, and Soi's reliving her past life too, sort of. Poor Tomo and Soi. I like them, I really do! I swear they'll have a good role in this story (as soon as I write it. ^_^) And... Dum Dum Dum!! Seiryuu breaks free!! Okay, go back to Part 7, go on to Part 9, or go back.
