It's only been a month or two later since the explosion at the Sector
6 plant. It appears that Jankovich had survived after all, and was
now keeping it down-low in Sector 7. Reno meanwhile and not too far
from '7th Heaven' bar where Jankovich is, leads a bust of drugs and
weapons at a nearby warehouse. With back-up from the ShinRa elite,
they bust the house in success. Elena of the Turks is ordered by
Rufus to bust yet some more terrorists, undercover as a pricy
prostitute; and although doesn't realize it, but happens to be in the
same bar with Jankovich, named '7th Heaven' (a new one obviously),
and meets a mysterious man. Tifa is present here, and Vincent
eventually pays her a visit that night, which he defends her bar from
some dangerous thugs. Anyway, Elena is taken to the Honey Bee Inn.
The people Elena mixes herself in with are organized crime lords;
whom Elena successfully busts dangerously deep under cover. Reno and
Kazneo spend some time together at Reno's crib (Not the Turk Mansion.
yet), but never 'get' into anything as they never 'do' anyway, so get
off of it. Reno learns more about her past, and it ain't pretty.
These two seem to share the same dark-themed twisted past.
Kefka shows up again, this time in Midgar. He is blown away at the
weirdness of the place, and wanders aimlessly talking to himself. He
is relieved that the 'cross-dresser' known as Kuja, who had been
apparently following him (and both annoying the hell out of each
other) was gone.
Elena meanwhile is still under cover. She is left at her wits end;
with Reno not with her she feels lost. Her and Jankovich actually end
up having dinner together; just a meal in which he pays for.
Jankovich is caught doing this right before going to meet yet another
weapons dealer on Wall Street.
Reno goes into a bender for a week or so, and finds out about Rufus'
orders to Elena about the undercover jobs. Drunk and temperamental,
he figures that there is a big conspiracy against him, and that she
was taking these jobs to get on Rufus' good side, and then take HIS
job, as Reno believes Rufus is trying to get rid of him. So, he waits
outside the restaurant in which Jankovich aka Don Giovanni and Elena
aka Ms Smith had just enjoyed their dinner, and ambushes her in an
alley. Reno can't bring himself to do it, as he realizes now, with a
few words from Elena, that she is ALL he has left; and figures out he
actually cares about the Rookie. The two shortly thereafter return to
ShinRa HQ. Kazneo meanwhile goes on a monthly plus long bender. Eat
ya heart out Reno.
Now awhile passes, as once again this club halts for awhile.
Basically what happens from this point on is, another resistance is
formed. Reno of the Turks, with Elena, need to re-assimilate.
Scarlett and Rude finally come into the picture now, being away from
Neo-Midgar and deciding now that they want to return to ShinRa Inc.
So now the Turks are reformed. Kazneo finds herself now in Rufus'
arms, more or less his bitch. Scarlett receives a position high on
the corporate latter, and is more or less the Boss in Rufus' absence.
Now the Turks are ordered by Rufus to hunt down a band of eccentric
rebels, who kill off civilians as well as ShinRa employees. They are
labeled, by ShinRa propaganda, to be enemies of peace and stability.
A threat to everyone. They managed to cause some serious damage to
the ShinRa family, but however are finally defeated after a few
months of chasing and fighting them. The Turks now have a place they
can call home, the Turk Mansion. Rufus seems to forget about them,
dealing with other things, and finding Kazneo is taking up a lot of
his time, not realizing that Kazneo is only learning; and basically
saving Reno's ass as Rufus was going to do away with him, but was
convinced otherwise after awhile.
We find Kefka; taking control of a disillusionalized and seemingly
forgotten Junon. He forms the Cult of Kefka; an eccentric, yet well
organized and hastily growing group right under ShinRa's nose.
Professor Hojo; or someone who looks just like him, is apparently
working on the development with Palazzo; a project called Mako-Tech
(FFVI...Magi-Tech, get it?) Funding is provided by Sector 6 gangs;
Reno's old gang known as the Snap Dragon's; well their rival called
the Knights of Vengeance; both are basically funding this new order
that Kefka promises.
However, at this point Kefka is not even making a ripple of commotion
anywhere but Junon. In fact, Rufus has no idea with the now seemingly
independent militia-controlled population at Junon, that Kefka has
moved in and is politically now the `Leader'. His party known as the
Cult of Kefka (CoK), is seen to be friendly and promises nothing but
peace and stability as Junon remains an independent state. Rufus
receives an invitation to Junon from Kefka personally, and he and
Kazneo pay him a visit. He basically shows him around Junon, and very
little has changed. A small task force, or what Rufus sees, of
soldiers dressed in the same bright colors Kefka so bluntly parades
around in. Kefka describes them as `Peace Keepers'. With Kazneo on
his arm, Rufus and Mr. Palazzo discuss possible future connections,
and guarantee full co-operation in recognizing ShinRa and Midgar as
the capital of the world.
Scarlett is meeting with the Turks briefly at their mansion, and Rude
is her driver for her personal mission; hunting down a man named
Seifer Almasy. Reno seems to tag along, but drunk. Scarlett is also
involved with a rebel by the name of Richter, who is later killed by
Reno himself, when he is found wiring explosives in a seriously weak
place in the ShinRa HQ building. Scarlett is upset, and Rude is there
with her. Elena meanwhile is left in the dark about everything that
has happened. She is basically on a vacation; Reno and Rude forget
about her.
Edgar, Sabin, Locke and Celes show up again. They have hid out for a
few months, and with Jankovich dead, they figure its about time to
find a way out. So, they head for the middle of Midgar, the boss man,
who if anyone knew what was going on with them, it should be him?
Well, they aren't let in nicely. So, Sabin takes it among himself,
and leads the others into a complete infiltration of ShinRa HQ. They
get there way up to the main office, where Rufus and Kazneo so
conveniently just arrive via chopper, back from Junon. Rufus doesn't
know what to make of them; but it reminds him of Cloud Strife,
Barrett Wallance and his Avalanche, so he doesn't take to kind to
them. They are arrested, but escape their prison thanks to Celes.
They leave Midgar altogether now.
Meanwhile, the Turks are currently without contact from Rufus ShinRa,
and with Scarlett gone back to HQ, they return to the Turk Mansion,
where Elena waits for them. Reno runs off one night, toward his old
neighborhood of Sector 6, and the gangs he was so involved with as a
kid. Elena awakens a very irritable Rude, and they follow him by
foot, as Reno took Rude's car. They catch up to Reno right before he
enters an abandoned warehouse, and he tells them the tragic story of
his sister. The murderer of his 14 year old sister a long time ago,
by a man named Xach of his rival gang, the Knight's of Vengeance.
They go in undercover, posing as the once rival gang of Reno's, but
now friendly as they are now allied due to the Cult of Kefka, named
the Snap Dragons. Reno's tattoo is evidence enough. They play along,
apparently they had been expecting some Dragons to show the new
prototype courtesy of Mr Palazzo, and Professor Hojo who currently
works in the lab. The KoV influence, as well as Dragons know-how goes
into the prototype, and this is where it is completed. It is called
Mako-Tech Armour; run on pure Mako and a very dangerous weapon. Reno
is uninterested, as the sight of his younger sisters killer enrages
him, and he cannot hold it back anymore. He kills him with a bullet
threw his mouth, and all hell breaks loose. Rude, Reno, and Elena
versus a whole legion of angry gang-bangers who just watched their
leader get shot. Hojo goes insane, and puts himself in the seat of
the Mako-Tech Armour, and blasts a few dozen KoV's with a most
impressive weapon system. He them blasts off into the sky, leaving a
hole in the wall, in which the Turks escape into the night. Reno is
nearly killed, but is brought to ShinRa HQ Infirmary, where he falls
into a coma for four months.
Rufus is furious. He demands Elena and Rude to explain themselves,
and they do without question. The mention the device, and Hojo, and
Rufus is even more enraged; he has no idea what to make of it. He
decides not to pursue it; a mistake. Whatever happened to Hojo, and
the device, isn't brought to the light for another few months. And by
then, its too late.
