Our story begins a few years after Midgar and Sephiroth are
destroyed. The world I would assume is at peace, as there is no major
conflict for awhile. Avalanche breaks off in there own separate
paths, and doesn't seem to stay in contact. Each of them have their
own lives to live, now that the world has been saved. Rufus ShinRa is
not dead, and remains in the 'Underground Network' (i.e. gangs,
organized crime, etc.) and eventually gains enough notoriety and
support from different networks, to be able to rise to power again,
and politically, without apparent force, manages to acquire office in
the now most powerful and growing city in the world, Junon, which
influence controls near 80% of the major cities and resource for that
matter (two main continues and most territories). Anyway, through
political sway he manages to been seen as the 'good guy' oppose to
any other possible candidate. He quickly rises to the top, and his
first order of business is to seize Mako supply lines, of course
learning his lesson from the past, decides innovation of Mako usage
will have to be put into effect in order to prevent a next Avalanche.
By his side is some of his original chain of command being: Scarlett,
Professor Cyrus (One of Hojo's top scientists), and with Reno in head
of the Turks, being Elena and Rude. As charismatic and persistent as
Rufus is, he gains a lot of support from the rich and the poor.
Possibly because he is the only one who seems to step up to the
challenge in such a recessive time, and get the economy rolling
again.
His first major project; Neo-Midgar. Construction would begin
immediately, and would be completed in Four Years. This would open
jobs for thousands if not one million of unemployed men and women.
Most said it was impossible. Yet it was completed; nearly identical
to that of Old Midgar; however it was a newer, seemingly brighter
place. During the four year period, Rufus secretly squashed his
political enemies and terrorists, as well as training and building up
an impressive army at Junon. Money was made, and people looked to
Rufus as the one to 'rebuild the world into a brighter, more peaceful
place. Four Years is all it took to put Rufus right back at the top
at ShinRa HQ. The NISEC (New Innovative ShinRa Electric Company) had
been established, and was now innovating Mako usage and drastically
cutting down on the outtake of the product. It could hardly be
classified as Mako Harvesting; or so it appeared on paper. However
President Rufus knew how important it was to look to other sources of
energy, to prevent terrorism within his new great state. Never the
less, he was back on top of the world.
The year is now 3076. The ShinRa order is stable, and there is little
conflict in the world today. Somewhere to the north, a time rift
opens up; time and universe tears and people suddenly get ripped out
of their own time, and placed into this world. From a world ruled by
a cruel Emperor Gastahl and his Empire, his right-hand-man known as
Kefka Palazzo stumbles upon these 'Gates', and is consequently sucked
into it. Lost, confused, and angry; he ends up stuck along side an
equally-strange-looking man named Kuja from a different world. The
two are stuck together in a place probably the Promised Land, but it
is never said exactly where or what it is. Another few people from
these two worlds are tossed into the mix together; and all are
randomly thrown in with one purpose, to get the hell out. King Edgar,
his brother Sabin, 'treasure hunter' Locke Cole, recently turned ex-
General Celes. From Kuja's world there is General Beatrix and one of
her soldiers, and Princess Garnet aka Dagger shows up before their
voyage from Junon to Costal Del Sol, for some R&R. The Turks meet
Beatrix and her soldier in Junon, and with a minor conflict, she
boards the same ship the Turks take to Costa, in hopes of finding an
answer to where and why she is here. Kazneo; a bounty hunter and old
friend Reno shows up as well, and stay with the Turks to Costa Del
Sol. There is word from ShinRa HQ to the Turks that a small
resistance group (which Garnet unfortunately meets up with, along
with Yuffie, and travels with them.) that is sabotaging and
terrorizing ShinRa. Edgar, Sabin, Locke and Celes get involved with a
freedom-fighter named Ian Jankovich, which ultimately causes problems
for ShinRa. They happen to be on the exact same boat the Turks are
on. General Beatrix and Reno seem to have some type of affair for
awhile while in Costa Del Sol. The Turks (not present is Rude at this
time) are called on by Rufus to return to Midgar ASAP; their new
official orders is to hunt down and assassinate Jankovich. They hunt
down Jankovich and eliminate him just outside Midgar, after he
successfully bombs one of the Reactors (showed up mere hours ahead of
the Turks, not knowing that they were so close behind them AND on his
ass). Elena is badly injured, and General Beatrix and her soldier
leave soon thereafter, as they need to find a way to return to
Alexandria Kingdom with the Princess whom she `rescues' from
Jankovich and the others. Edgar and Celes are injured, and Locke and
Sabin escape deep into Midgar where they hide. The Turks return to
ShinRa HQ.
