Attire for a Ballet & Pointe Class
In ballet, the attire is elegant, but very comfortable and stretchy. You almost always wear leotards. EX-
You usually wear tights also. Especially for pointe. They help to prevent blisters on your toes from pointe. A short dance skirt is often worn, along with sometimes leg warmers. If you have long hair, it is either tied back in a ponytail or in a bun. Short hair is usually pinned up, too. Dance dresses are often worn. Really, though, dancers wear anything that they can move in easily and comfortably. Shoes are pink, white, or black usually and are ballet slippers. Pointe shoes are the same, but many many different styles.

Attire for a Jazz Class
Attire for a jazz class is very comfortable and stretchy. Dancers most often wear a leotard. You don't have to wear tights. They wear dance pants (warm ups with a dance look and flare bottoms) and sometimes wraps around the waist. Socks are even worn here! Dance dresses and skirts are worn also. The shoes are varied, but all related. They are most often black. They can be split sole, or full. Some are lace ups, and some are slip ons. Slip ons are very common in dance/drill team. They are more commonly known as jazz gore boots. Older students wear dance sneaker, or sneakers created for dance.

Attire for a Tap Class
Scroll down for JAZZ and TAP attire!!
Attire for a tap class is very similar to a tap class. Pants are sometimes worn, but dancers usually wear something that shows the feet for technique. Capris are excellent for tap. Dancers also wear leotards, but shirts are worn in some cases. Tap is one of the few dance styles that doesn't depend on attire and costuming. Ballet very much deals with that. Jazz attire is good for tap. Shoes for tap come in many styles. You basically choose the style you like best. In many cases, the teacher recommends or requires a certain type of shoe. Below is an example of a tap shoe.
