For the past three years I have been trying to become a good pole vaulter, guided by my (long distance) coach, Brandon Vance and countless others. To name a few Brandt Willingham, Scott Wheiholtz, Scott Slover, Bob Slover, John Bezmer and many more. Unluckily my last season at Fresno City wasn't as fruitful as the one before. I only went up 6 inches, which I only cleared once and have yet since cleared. To make matters worse during the season I broke my first pole, giving me a minute tear in my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Not feeling any pain I continued the season on it only tearing it until about eight months ago when it finally gave out and I have been going through therapy and lots of pain since.

As of now I am about 90% ready to begin vaulting over a cross bar, I am going to start jumping from a 6 stride soon. My knee feels good time to time with some occasional pain, and my chest has completely healed. Although my injure kept me on the side lines at Reno, being 21, I still had a really good time. I am looking forward to Reno 2004 where I will jump and hopefully reach a new indoor P.R. Below are some pics of me vaulting and other interesting pole vault related pics, just click on them to enlarge. Not to many people have taken pictures of me vaulting which is why I have so few.
