![]() Thanksgiving Day is almost here And families from miles around Are gathering again, for old fashioned cheer And heading homeward bound Its busy at the ole homestead And mother has a twinkle in her eye Fathers gathering wood from the old woodshed For Thanksgiving Day is nigh And aunt and uncle, sister, brother Are excitedly preparing To visit again with dad and mother For old time-- Thanksgiving sharing And wafting aromas will tantalize It sure has been awhile And we'll build again those family ties As we come across the mile Though snowflakes, may bring tangy weather Everyone will still be there For Thanksgiving brings us all together And there wont be an empty chair We'll feast upon an array of dishes From turkey, potatoes, gravy, and dressing And break the wishbone, as we make our wishes After father says grace--and gives the blessing And we will reminisce- of days gone by With laughter, love, and chatter And have a slice of pumpkin pie For these are the times that matter This is the day-that brings us all together It comes -but once a year And we will brave the frosty weather To share some Thanksgiving cheer.
