(III.3) Sanctions:
(a) If a candidate is believed to have broken this policy
within any aspect of the election process, a complaint
should be submitted to the committee or a KUSU Sabattical who will deal with it through channels laid out in KUSU�s Equal Opportunities policy.
(IV) Publications
(IV.1) Aims:
(a) This society aims to ensure that all practice in relation to publications complies with this and KUSU�s Equal Opportunities policy.
(b) Publicity and society media should reflect the
diversity of the society�s membership.
(IV.2) Implementation:
(a) All society literature, media and publicity will comply with this and KUSU�s Equal Opportunities policy. These publications will represent and respect diversity of membership.
(b) The society committee will take responsibility for posters and materials that do not go through KUSU�s committee.
(c) Complaints regarding the Equal Opportunities surrounding a publication by the society should be reported to a KUSU Sabbatical for investigation.
(IV.3) Sanctions:
(a) Should the society committee be found to be in breach of this and KUSU�s Equal Opportunities policy with publications, posters or written materials can be sanctioned with penalties as follows:
i) Fine and warning.
ii) Withdrawal of all advertising.
iii) Suspension of use of financial accounts.
iv) Suspension or closure.
v) Any other punishment as outlined in
KUSU�s disciplinary regulations.
7) Quorancy of committee elections:
a) Candidates standing for contested positions on the committee should make public their manifesto on or by the Election Day, either in written form or verbally.
b) 10 % of paying members should be in attendance and vote, although it may be made possible, at the discretion of the committee, for the submission of votes by a pre-agreed alternative media.
c) The elections should be carried out by means of a secret ballot and it is the responsibility of the committee to ensure security during election procedures.
d) Votes should be counted and validated by an impartial member of the committee.
e) In drawing the election procedure to a conclusion and informing the attending members of results, specific statistics of those for, against and those abstaining should be made public.
f) During the election procedure no persons should be allowed to enter or exit the room so as to ensure continuity of representation in attending voting members.
g) The election process must be carried out in accordance with the society and KUSU Equal Opportunities policy.
