Kealoha hosts First Thursdays (@ Hawaiian Hut), a monthly slam poetry competition offering $100 in cash prizes to its winner. In addition to providing the platform for Hawaii's top performance poets, the event also features guest DJ's, live painters, massage therapists, and other performance artists. First Thursdays is certified with Poetry Slam, Inc., and has been recognized as the largest registered poetry slam in the world (with 650+ in attendance). |
