| KING OF CRIME "He slept over at your house? Alyson, do you suffer from some mental disorder?" Spat Kimberly. "Chill, it was fun. It's not like he raped her." Said Lacy. "Sounds like fun. I wish you invited me, geez Alyson." Said June. "Alyson?" Asked Kimberly. "Yo, Alyson!" Said Lacy. Alyson was staring across the hall at Kevin, who was once again being picked on. "I hate that." Said Alyson, nodding her head towards them. "Then do something about it." Said Lacy. "Yeah right! Then everyone would tease him because his sister has to stand up for him." Said Alyson. "Alyson, get over it. You can't change it." Said Kimberly. "What the hell is your problem, Kimberly?" Snapped Alyson. "What's yours?" Asked Kimberly. Alyson stalked off from her friends, toward her brother. Just before she reached him, Caden stepped in. "You messin' with my friend?" Asked Caden. "This loser's your friend?" "Got a problem with it?" Asked Caden, slamming the bully into the lockers. "No." Said the bully, startled. "You better leave him alone or me and the rest of my friends are gonna send you to the hospital. Got it?" "Yeah." Said the bully running off. "Guys okay?" Asked Alyson. "Yeah. Thanks, Caden." Said Kevin. "Hey, Caden, can I talk to you?" Asked Alyson. "Sure. See ya, Kevin." Said Caden. "Bye." Said Kevin. The two of them walked down the hall. "I've run out of money and I'm not going to be paid in a while." Said Alyson. "That's okay, you'll pay me when you pay me. Besides, I'm sure I've racked up a bill with me and my sister always coming around." "Becca's a cutie." Said Alyson. Caden looks cute too, thought Alyson. "Yeah. Um, your mom invited me and Becca to go with you to Lagoon." Said Caden. "Really? That'll be fun!" Said Alyson. "So you don't mind it?" Asked Caden. "No." Said Alyson. The bell rang. "Gotta go, I have class." Said Alyson. "Bye." Said Caden, watching her walk down the hall. Did she really mean it? Caden felt like he was mooching off her mother. Maybe he'd get Mrs. Davis something, as a thankyou present. "Caden, you coming?" Asked Drew. "Yeah. Where's Kyle?" "Outside. He wants to talk to you." Said Drew. They walked outside and met Kyle at a lunch table. "Caden, haven't seen much of you lately." Said Kyle. "Been busy." Said Caden. "Hangin' out with Kevin Davis? But here's the problem. You wouldn't be hanging out with him for money, would ya? It'd be a huge problem if someone let that slip." "What're you saying, Kyle?" Asked Caden, his eyes narrowed. "I want half of what you make. I've run into a bit of a, a financial bind." Said Kevin. Caden gnashed his teeth. "What about third wheel over here?" Asked Caden. "Drew, you want a fourth?" Asked Kyle. "Nah." Said Drew, his eyes on the ground. "You're dealing drugs, aren't you?" Said Caden. Kyle grabbed Caden's shirt and dragged him closer. "Shut up. Walls have ears." Said Kyle. "What's the point of getting money out of me? It'll just be a measly two fifty a day." Said Caden. "I know, but every penny will help. Besides, we'll be robbing. And you'll be helping or poor Kevin'll find out the truth. I know you're a theif, Caden." "So what? I only stole enough to survive." Said Caden. "But you're a theif. And if you don't help me, I'll bring you down." "And by that you're saying if you don't get the money you need, you're screwed?" "Yep. And everyone's gonna think you were a part of it." Said Kyle. Caden clenched his fists. "How much do you need?" "Three hundred dollars by next Sunday." Said Kyle. "K." Said Caden, standing up. As he walked away, he didn't notice the blonde girl with braces reading a book. Kimberly looked up, scowling. She knew this guy was trouble. AMUSEMENT PARK "Alyson, why don't you believe me?" Asked Kimberly. "Because I know you don't like the guy and I'm sure you're lying." Snapped Alyson. She emptied her purse on her bed to make sure she had everything she needed. "I'm serious! Kyle's a drug dealer and Caden's going to help him. Alyson, Caden could get you into serious trouble." Said Kimberly. "Kim, I think you should go." Said Alyson. "I bet I know why you won't believe me. You're in love with him! Lacy told me you did! But he doesn't love you, he just wants the money you're paying him!" Snapped Kimberly. Secretly, in Alyson's heart, she had hoped he had only befriended her brother to get to know her better. But realization hit. Of course he didn't. "Kimberly, just leave me alone! I'm sick of you doing this all the time! If you're jealous because you think I'm going to spend all my time with him," "Oh, that's what you think this is?" "Well then, what is it?" "Alyson," "Shut up, I'm sick of this, all of it!" "Fine!" Snapped Kimberly. Huffily, she grabbed her jacket and pulled it on. "If that's the way you want it, then we're no longer friends. Have fun in jail." Said Kimberly angerly. She slammed Alyson's door as she left. Outside, Caden was walking with Becca to the Davis' house. An angry Kimberly stomped out of the house and bumped into Caden. "Hi, Kimberly." Said Caden. Kimberly looked up at him, tears filling in her eyes. Then a look of pure hate crossed over her. Kimberly ingored the greeting and walked off. Curious, Caden turned his head toward her. What was her problem? "Caden, you're here!" Greeted Kevin. "Did you just see that? What happened?" Asked Caden. "Dunno,"shrugged Kevin, "Anyways, we've got to be going." Mrs. Davis and her husband walked out onto the porch. "Alrighty then, I guess it's time to go. Allen, this is Caden and Becca Vespucci." Said Mrs. Davis. "Nice to meet you both. So, Caden, how many classes do you have with Kevin?" Asked Mr. Davis. "One, math. It's the only subject I got held back in." |
