IRISH AND OTHER CELTIC

Ireland was settled by successive waves of Tuatha DeDanan, Milesians, and Fir Bolgs. Later called Scots, they descended on Scotland conquering the Picts, and marring into to them, for instance, my surname Douglas is believed to be of Pictish Origin from Moray Scotland, also some Smiths are believed Pictish from Strathblane Scotland, and some Cupp families are considered of Pictish Origin (though not the east Tennessee Cupp family which is German). A Scottish Chief named Kenneth McAlpin was 1/2 Dalriada Scot and 1/2 Pict. So I think it is possible that when King James settled Northern Ireland with Scots that they may have carried a bit of Pictish blood in their veins.
On my Callahan coat of arms chart is says that:
Traditionally, the ancient Kings of Ireland were descended from king Milesius from Spain...He sent an army to explore this island...upon his
death his eight sons conquered the Island....
here are some of their names: Heremon, the eldest, Heber, Ir, Ithe, they named the land Scota, or Scotia, their mother's name, the land of the Scots.
There certainly some ancient connection between all the Celtic Tribes, including those that settled: Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, and Wales.
I fully enjoy the many Celtic King Arthur stories, there is no end to the "Arthur stories", Stephen R. Lawhead is just one great author writing in that genre.
