| My Ancestors can be traced back into the early 18th century in America, some can be traced back to their countries of origin--most were from England, three branches were from Germany, some from Ireland. I also have Native American, Cherokee most likely. And possibly Melungeon--an amalgamation of races that may include Portuguese, Monacan-Saponi Indian, African, and a Mediteranean mix. East Tennessee where I was born is a beautiful mountainous area. It is not hard to imagine the Cherokee and other Indians hunting and living in those forested Cumberland mountains. It is a truly beautiful place. |
