           FISHING
Fishing in the area is excellent with Lakes Rivers , Dams and Creeks all within a short drive . The Turon River onsite varies with river flow and stockings but always has some big European Carp which are excellent to target with fly , lures or bait . These are definitely not a catch and release fish and if prepared the right way aren't to bad eating. The river at times also holds Murray Cod , Silver Perch, Golden Perch , Catfish , Redfin  and both brown and rainbow trout but these are dependant on factors such as spring floods and fish stockings .
A better bet for natives is Windermere Dam , Kandos Weir , Rylestone Weir and Burrendong Dam .
-----------------------------------------
Trout are more plentiful closer to the Great Dividing Range  and dams such as Thompsons Creek Dam , Lake Wallace , Lake Lyall, Oberon Dam are your best bet not forgetting the feeder streams that fill the dams and the rivers  above and below them .
-----------------------------------------
Catch and Release of Murray Cod is highly recomended as these fish are helping the demise of the introduced species such as carp and  r
edfin
-------------------------------------------------
Trout streams are closed to fishing from the last day of the Queens Birthday long weekend until the first weekend in October . The dams are open to fishing all year round as are certain rivers and streams , these can be found at this website http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries

The European carp is one of the worlds most farmed food fish in the world and is one of the most sought after sports fish in Europe.  Having caught many species of fish on fly I reckon this is one of the best fighting fish in Australia's freshwater streams and impoundments .
The most predominant fish in the river around Turondale is European Carp and great fun can be had catching fish up to 10kg Kids love catching carp on bait
