Being a cashier is a hard job. Really. Aside from being forced to stand on your feet all day long, which is very painful, not to mention bad for your body, I have to deal with people. And anyone who has ever worked with the public before will agree with me, it's not easy. People are predisposed to having bad days, and whether they intend to or not, they take it out on us. For example, I was chewed out by a woman because the deli did not have a rotissiere chicken cooked and ready for her. She acted like it was my fault for the chicken not being done. Might I add that I do not work in the deli, nor have I ever stepped foot behind the deli counter. It turns out that the woman was simply running late for dinner!
Another hard part about dealing with customers is servicing them as best as I can and keeping my pride. It is extremely hard for me to kindly put a customers 30 or so bags into their cart, not to mention lugging their cases of soda, and other heavy items under the cart, while they just stand there watching like they are helpless. Hey customers! It's rude to do that!!!!!

What annoys cashiers the most
Here is a list of things that really annoys and pisses off all but the most angelic cashiers.
P.S. If you insist on continuing to do these things, despite being warned, do NOT be shocked or upset if the cashier looks at you like your stupid, or an alien from another planet!
In most stores, the posted closing time is pretty much a fixed thing. Coming in the store 5 minutes prior to closing to do your monthly grocery shopping is, RUDE, ANNOYING, IRRITATING, and any other awful adjective that I can think of, so DON'T DO IT!!!!!
A grocery store is not a bank. Cash back is a bonus. If you need more than the allowed cash back, find a freakin ATM!
"Wake up!" is not an appropriate greeting for your cashier unless she has crawled on top of her register and you see a puddle of drool forming under her head. I can not even begin to make you understand how freakin annoying it is to be staring at the customer and then they say this to you! GRRRR!
If you walk up to a register and the cashier is standing behind it, with the register light on, unless it is a freak incident, SHE IS OPEN. Do NOT ask "Are you open?" or "Are you working?" DUH!!!!!!!! She isn't standing there for her health!
P.S. Just the other day I had a lady ask me if I was open...WHILE I WAS SCANNING ANOTHER PERSONS GROCERIES (here's your sign!)
