Picks of the Day
This is where I rate great new movies and music and stuff, mostly movies right now:). This will be changing the most so keep an eye on it and buy the music and go and see the movies. You won't be disappointed...

Donnie Darko- A kid that can travel through time, mysterious characters, and a bunny that predicts the end of the world. Like no story you've ever seen before.
Mulholland Drive- A woman loses her memory and finds another woman who helps her out. All about L.A. and the weird stuff that happens there. Or is anything REALLY happening? A David Lynch Hollywood epic.
Memento- The pick of the year for independent film. A guy that can't form any new memories and just remembers the past... like this wife being murdered! A great story, great acting, all told backwards! If you ask me it got screwed at the Oscars for best movie and for best screenplay.
Training Day- THE cop movie to see. A new cop is shown the ropes by a veteran cop. Denzel gives a great performace and Ethan Hawke is excellent as well. This also marks the first time anyone, other than gangs, were allowed into gangland territory in LA. A Must See!
Intacto- A spanish movie about luck and its consequences. I don't think I was bored for one minute of this very imaginative movie. I've never seen anything like it, and it's for this reason that I recommend it. This and the fact that you will never see where this movie is going at anytime.
Series 7: The Contenders- Ok, so in 2001, before the reality hype (just before) there was this movie about a reality show set in the near future where everyone is given a weapon and then told to kill the other people on the show to win. To win is to live, to lose is to die. A VERY original idea in 2001 and it shows where things might lead, if we're not careful with this reality craze. If you like Survivor or Big Brother, or any other crappy reality show, check out this movie. It'll show you what reality shows can be all about.

One Hour Photo- Robin Williams acts as a slightly obsessed photo developer who craves to be a part of this certain family. From a first time writer/director this is a marvel. Also, Williams acting for the first time in a long time.
25th Hour- Ed Norton does a fine performance as a drug dealer who's caught and has to spend the last day of his freedom thinking about everything he's going to miss and who sold him out. Probably the only Spike Lee movie that doesn't have a white person being the bad guy against a black man. Great acting and writing makes this one a hit.
Adaptation- Here's another movie where an actor acts, and pretty damn well might I say. Nick Cage is a writer who has to adapt this screenplay, but gets writer's block and asks his twin brother for help. They check out the main characters and get into some hot water. From what could've been a dud is made into a great and interesting experience in how movies are written and how they are not.
