bio

All racers possess a passion and natural instinct for speed and Kyle is no exception. What makes him unique in the ranks of the "speed-driven" is his extensive engineering education and aerospace knowledge.

Kyle has a B.S. degree from Purdue University in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master's degree from UCSD in Aero Structural Engineering. In the past few years, he has worked on rocket engines, launch vehicles, missiles, satellites, aircraft (manned and unmanned), and jet engines; as well as roller coasters for well known theme parks.

To begin his racing career, Kyle attended the California Superbike School taught by Keith Code. His natural instinct combined with formal training of racing mechanics and years of engineering knowledge have resulted in a very competitive rider.

Kyle raced in 5 races during In his first season of racing (WSMC series). On a five year old stock SV650, Kyle finished 4th, 3rd, and had two 2nd place finishes; although one was contested (arguably) for passing under yellow. In the 5th race of the season, Kyle was again challenging for a podium position when he was hit from behind entering a turn on the final lap.

When questioned about his style of racing, Kyle describes it as "precise insanity." "When racing, I am feeling the bike, feeling the track, feeling the movement and the speed. At the same time, I am visualizing the mechanics, the physics, the movement of the bike and my body. I know how a bike works, I know what the limits are, and I visualize the bike at those limits. During a race, I push the bike and myself to the limits. Racing on that edge."
