To the left is the pond in the beginning.
Picture on the right was taken today  4-28-06
Pic below was also taken today.
Waiting for things to start growing, and a load of rocks to be brought in to place around pond.
It don't look too great right now. I have been doing a lot of digging and planting. My plan is to only have garden and paths in the yard...no grass.
Left pic is view from top of yard.
I am taking the pic standing in front of my rose bed. Only this side of the yard is planted so far.....
Working on putting in a steel basment door, the slanted kind like a cellar door,....I'm not naming any names..but someone piled dirt on top of my herb garden. I was to put it mildly..upset....so decided to move all the herbs if any survive, and this is the spot where I am putting a fairy garden.
Pic on the right is before i really started planting.
To the left is the rose bed I dug up in a day. Man was my back hurting that night! Next to the fence is a patch of strawberries I plan to move next year. Also a bleeding heart and a small butterfly bush.
Today, 4-28-06, I planted 5 hybrid tea roses..minus a Mr Lincoln that Michigan Bulb forgot to send..which I marched into the house and called them, it will be on its way..LOL...also planted are a 'Mr. Stripey' tomato..and a sweet as candy tomato..we'll see how they turn out. I have so much more to plant.
The windmill, Jim bought yesterday, and he also got a nice garden gate/trellis that I need to get put together. I am the 'handywoman' from you-know-where..LOL We also still have the fireplace to set up and place in the yard. It's just been raining too much, but before it rained we had a burn ban anyway. When I get them done I'll take more pics.
This is the fireplace we bought
Yard was a blank canvas last year. I planted a few things but mostly just cleaned it up and planned. This year is going good, Jim put in a small pond with a waterfall, our friend Dave, is helping me put in a steel basement door. I have so much to plant, and also am putting a fireplace in the yard. We have a beautiful garden gate trellis to assemble so I can get my morning glories and sweet peas planted. Also some MT Fuji morning glories. Some of my plants were given to me by my best friend, Tammy, who lives in Maryland. My hubby is as bad as me when it comes to ordering and buying seeds and plants. My goal is to have a backyard full of flowers, veggies here and there, rocks, garden junk, and only a path to walk thru it all.  I joined GardenWeb.com and they are the most creative people there. And so friendly! When you read the posts, and look at pictures of thier gardens, its like your visiting a close friend. It's so inspiring to see the creativity the people in the forum have. I found my place, a place with people who are a lot like myself.
Well, here is the fireplace all set up. It took us 5 hours..LOL and what a way to test a marriage!..LOL We did great, and I love it! I'll be out in the yard today taking more pics. But let me tell you...this is one AWESOME fireplace!
The chandelier
Gardengate/trellis. I am going to plant Scarlett O'hara Morning Glories  on it, they are red, and also sweet peas . The gates will be open all the time.

Picture of the pond on May 3rd. I added more plants (groundcover) yesterday.
Garden Totem on the left, made by using silicone to 'glue' all sorts of glass pieces together.

Bowling ball covered with plastic frogs then spray painted to sit near the pond for some unique garden art.
