Welcome to my Backyard. It's still a work in progress, as our gardens are never 'finished'. If you have looked at my first backyard page, that was at the beginning of spring 2006, you will notice all the changes. The yard was pretty much bare. Lots of plants, and some added features like the fireplace, pond and trellis, plus some garden junk I made, sure made a difference. It's a lot of work but well worth it. I love to go sit out back now and enjoy the birds and butterflies that now come to the garden. (6-23-06)
Spoon Petal African Daisies
Back behind the fireplace, I have hosta, butterfly bush, strawberries, petunias, daisies, bell peppers, tomatoes, and several roses, are among the things I have planted here.
Another view of behind the fireplace.
Frog Bowling Ball above the pond.
This bell pepper plant is a foot tall and has a big pepper on it.
Painted and planted vintage bicycle. It has purple and white petunias planted in the basket. The color of paint I used is periwinkle. Also planted some lily of the valley around it.
Spider web hens and chicks blooming. I just bought them this year.
My garden helper, he tends to the cucumbers, peppers and herbs, and a few tomato plants.
A light globe on a candle holder aka Garden Junk..lol.
Little garden cart with the fairy birdbath.
I am standing in front of the pond, taking a picture towards the back of the yard. To the right of me is our picnic table and grill area. I can't show you the picnic table, cause i have a mess there where I have been repotting and making stuff..lol.
Fish in our pond.
Two frog figurines hiding in the flowers.
Another pic of the fish
Purple violets and a froggie 'hello'.
Some hens and chicks, irish moss and portulaca.
A garden girl I made last week, I named her 'Sunnie'. Painted a small rocking chair, that is also a puzzle, some red bee balm and she has her spot in the garden. She tends to the sunflowers.
Finally made something with the screendoor I bought at a yard sale. Made a 'tipsy pot" from the garden web site, spray painted a few cement blocks to sit a few birdhouses on, made a stone path and planted some crazy daisies and petunias.
A gator hiding under the waterfall of the pond.
My garden gate/trellis. Things are really starting to grow now!
Hens and Chicks.
Front of the pond.
Pink Hollyhocks and my strawhat birdhouse. A Jenny Wren is making a nest in it.
The picnic table is now to the left of me. I am taking the picture towards the pond and the back of the house.
Portulaca
Another view of the pond.
These are just 2 of my 10 tomato plants.
Silvermound, hens and chicks and variegated grass.
In this area, I have a cucumber growing on a tripod, 15 different pepper plants, chives, parsley, catnip, and sage. Oh, and 5 tomato plants too.
Violets.
Wave petunias, Columbine, a few of my Plumeria, some mondo grass, and an eggplant growing on a trellis.
Variegated Yucca Plant.
Thanks for visiting, please sign my guestbook.
