You've heard of Puss in Boots? How about Pug in Boots!. We hoped Caesar would wear the boots in the snow, but he hated them, so I returned them to Petsmart. But at least we got a good picture first.
Some people think we're crazy, but we love our dog. He's like a regular member of the family to us. We were so lucky in adopting such a good dog as Caesar. We somehow got in touch with a woman who is involved with a pug rescue group and was looking to place 3 pugs. She brought the trio - Bob, Buddy and Caesar - to our house and Caesar immediately plopped down on Mike's lap looking for affection. Meanwhile the other two ran rampant just looking for somewhere or something to mark. We knew right then that Caesar wanted to be with us, so it was a very easy decision to make. The next day we picked him up and well, the rest is history.
Caesar is definitely the King of our neighborhood, and has lots of dog-friends. His cousins are Sammy (Mike's mom's Shih-tzu) and Tyler (K.C.'s mom's Shih-tzu) and his pals he likes to play around with are Katie (Pit Bull), Murphy (Golden), Tanner and Bailey (both Labs). Caesar had a even few more friends, however some have unfortunately passed on. We lost Demi, our female pug in 2003 to cancer. Caesar only knew her for a short time, but was a protective little brother while she was sick. K.C.'s parents also lost their Bouvier Yazzie in 2004. Caesar and Yaz enjoyed chasing each other around the coffee table.
Caesar, like all pugs, loves merely to eat and sleep. His favorite treats are carrots and soft tortillas. He will dance and spin around for either of them, but he's like a shark when it comes to stalking a tortilla - just watch your fingers! He's also quite adept at burrowing, we have found him several times buried under all the bed sheets just chillin'.
