This is Merlin.
He is a Yellow Naped Amazon Parrot.

And has been a member of our family for 11 years.

Awwww Yes.
He does LOVE his showers
The day we got
Merlin he laughed all the way home
& hasn�t stopped since.
He has his own food bowl &
at dinner time he eats what we eat.
His favorite foods are:
Blackeyed Peas, Pizza & Lima Beans those are at the top
of the list (a list that is very long).
He knows when he is going to eat,
that�s when he paces his cage & says "Good Real Good."
He has a fairly large vocabulary 50% of which
we can understand. He enjoys calling our three dogs
& he knows them all by name.
Since we have a teenager, he knows "Jennifer telephone."
One of his favorite pastimes is
sliding down the leg of his cage & giving
the dogs or the kids a run around the room.
He loves to be held & have his head & neck rubbed.
I can ask him to show me how pretty he is
& he will spread his wings out, like ok I'm beautiful.
He also knows how to play dead bird while he is being held.
He won�t talk when we have company (of course)
so at least I can show them he knows how to do something.
We are fortunate
to have this wonderful bird.
No matter how bad your day goes, he is right there
with a good Merlin laugh & it never fails to make us smile.
