The Jetta and rental Jeep pulled up to the hotel at 6:00. Two bodyguards came out of the building to make sure the accumulating fans didn't get too close to Brian. Amy, Angela, and Taylor followed close behind into the lobby. They ducked into the nearest elevator and went to the top floor. The guy's suite was gorgeous. Candles lined the livingroom/diningroom. The table was full of food from the restaurant across the street. The scent of cocktail shrimp, chicken, and mashed potatoes filled the room. Amy and Angela sat down at the table. Taylor avoided eye contact with Nick and took her seat.
"Hey Nick, can I talk to you for a sec?" asked Brian pulling his friend onto the balcony.
"What's up?" asked Nick.
"Look, Tay told me what happened last night," he said.
"I really do have those feelings for her. I didn't expect her to freak out like she did. Now I don't know what to do. Should I act like I never said it? Should I keep telling her in hopes she feels the same way? Maybe I should wait for her to talk to me. I'm so confused," Nick said running his fingers through his hair and resting his hands on his nape.
"Don't ignore her... Ok, you didn't hear this from me but she's never been in love before. It's not that she doesn't love you back, but she just needs some time to process these feelings. She didn't really know how to handle it. Don't be too pushy. Just ask her how she feels. Tay will come around."
"Thanks man. It's great to have a friend like you. So how are things between you and Angela?"
"Fine. Why do you ask?" inquired Brian.
"Because she hasn't taken her eyes off you since we came out here," said Nick.
Brian glanced back at the table and Angela quickly turned her attention to what Amy was saying. "What can I say? I'm a stud and she's got the hots for me," he said with a grin. Both guys started cracking up and went back inside.
Dinner began rather silent. It wasn't until AJ picked up a shrimp and the cocktail sauce plopped into his lap that the evening became more interesting.
