Disneyland was fairly crowded. They entered the park trying to avoid groups of young people. Angela led them past the rides. "Hey aren't we going on any roller coasters?" asked Nick.
"After dinner," Angela responded.
"Food? I'm always up for food," said Brian.
They passed the Pirates of the Caribbean and Angela walked up to a door. She pressed a button and said something into a speaker. The door opened and they went inside. "Oooo... I feel like I'm part of an underground conspiracy," said Taylor walking over the threshold.
The receptionist came forward, "Name of your party please?" she asked.
"Angela, party of 8."
"One moment," said the receptionist. She picked up the phone and announced to another receptionist that they had arrived. She waited a moment then said, "You may go up now and enjoy your meal at Club 33."
The elevator opened and they stepped inside. "I feel so important with all this royal treatment," said Amy. They walked down the long hallway to the dining area. There were only fourteen tables in the entire restaurant and they were seated at the one by the window.
"It's really great to see you girls again," said AJ.
"Yeah. You should have heard the other three. Whine, whine, whine, moan, moan, moan. We finally arranged the trip out here to see you and get them to shut up," said Howie.
"Hey!" responded Brian, Kevin, and Nick simultaneously. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Conversations quieted down when the light show (Fantasmic) began on the lake below. They pulled their chairs up to the window and stared in awe at the colorful fireworks and laser beams outside. The characters dancing on the lake in boats and other floating platforms added laughter to the atmosphere.
When the show had ended, they changed clothes in the bathrooms and met by a planter. "So where are we off to now?"asked Kevin.
"Follow me," replied Taylor grabbing Nick's hand. She walked toward Splash Mountain. Brian, Angela, Kevin, Amy, Taylor, and Nick loaded into the first cart. Howie and AJ climbed into the second. The carts floated along. Frick and Frack splashed one another with the water. Kevin stuck his hand out over the side then onto the back of Amy's neck. She squealed in surprise from the cold water.
Noticing the lovey dovey actions in front of them, AJ put his arm around Howie and said, "I love you man." The two bust out into laughter and started making kissing noises at the cart in front. The girls laughed in excitement as the drop approached. AJ and Howie, on the other hand, took one look at what was ahead and screamed in terror.
Their shoes squished as they walked. "Ok we HAVE to go on that!" exclaimed Brian heading straight for the Haunted Mansion. They stepped into the center of a large room. The door panel slid shut and Kevin nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Woah it's just a ride honey," said Amy putting her arm around his waist. The group walked out of the room down a dark hall. They made their way to the moving sidewalk to board the doom buggies. Nick helped Taylor into the first one, then Brian led Angela into the next. Kevin bowed, "M'lady."
Amy giggled, "Thank you M'lord."
AJ and Howie got into the next cart. "Hold me AJ, I'm scared!" screamed Howie as they turned into the first curve.
"No you hold me! I'm scared of the dark. Mommy!" AJ retorted.
"Oh shut up!" yelled Nick laughing from the other side of the crystal ball.
A ghost pooped up from behind a tombstone causing Taylor to scream. "It's ok baby love. I'm here," Nick comforted, evoking a smile from her as he put his arm around her.
"Check it out. There's a ghost sitting on Brian and Angela... who happen to be making out. Geez guys! Get a room!" said Taylor. Finally the ride ended and they moved down the sidewalk to the exit.
"We've got time for one more ride," said Howie.
"Let's go on Space Mountain!" suggested AJ.
"Uh I dunno about that guys," said Brian in a weary voice.
"Ah come on B-rok," said Angela. "You can close your eyes. It'll be ok."
They sat down in the same pairs with Taylor and Nick in the front of the coaster. The ride began and Brian became very antsy in his seat. "Aww are you scared?" kidded Nick. "Oh dear gawd!" he screamed bringing his own attention to the drop ahead.
They stepped off the ride and Brian said, "Wow, that was actually pretty fun."
"So you want to go on it again?" asked Angela.
"NO!" he quickly responded.
