Steve Papa: Drums |
His folks might just regret buying him that Muppet drumset back in 1978!!!
Perhaps at the age of five, Steev's greatest inspiration was his uncle Joey, rockstar drummer for a band called LAGEIA, and his "Pop", Steve Papa Sr., the only Rock & Roll acordian player on earth, tearin' it up with THE LEGENDS.
Steev loved banging on things but only took it seriously at age 14. Meeting guitarist extrodinaire Rob Bambach (Rock Junkie, The Robert Santa Band) probably pushed him to learn "the skins" quicker than usual. The two covered challenging songs by Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.
He backed several great local bands as his drumming skills sharpened, including CONCRETE SHOES- (and other great gravitational devices), PAPA'S LAST STAND and FOUR CORNERS.
Then, in the summer of '91, it happened.
Steev was discovered by former KBI members Rich and Rus, at a house party and asked to audition for the band. He would go on to fill the spot left by Carmen Monoxide, the last lady from the all female punk band P.M.S. which morphed into what would later become KILL BY INCHES.
From 1995-99, Steev and Kev survived line up changes, sticking it out against the odds. They were rewarded when Pete completed the trio in early 2000.
Steev's entire life revolves around music and says his greatest aspiration is to share it with all of his friends and fans.
