What about this Christianity stuff anyhow?

Good question. Ths is something that I have spent the last two years trying to figure out.

Now, I don't know what you are thinking right now. In all reality, I'm hoping that you'll just continue on reading what I have to say, and then you can make the decision about whether or not I am right, or if I am totally off my rocker. Please just hear what I have to say, and then make your decision later.

Ok. About 2 years ago, I filled out some religous survey on my campus. It consisted of 5 or 6 questions about God, church, and Jesus. I filled it out, more out of curiosity than anything else. At that time, I figured God must have existed, or at least I hoped He did--it would mean that there was more to life than just eat and sleep, live and die. Apparently (I didn't remembe this later), I answered yes to the question if I would like for someone to go through a four point outline on how to know God better.

Well, some time later, a couple of guys knocked on my door, and asked if I had a few minutes to go through that four point outline. At this point in time, I had forgotten all about that survey, and was wondering, "Who the heck are these guys?!" I let them in and then waited to see what they were going to try to sell me. The entire time they talked, I was trying to find that real purpose that they had come to visit me--after all, when someone knocks on your door, isn't because they want something from you?

But I couldn't find that thing they were after! They seemed more interested in talking to me about this Jesus fellow and how to go to heaven than anything else! And what they were saying made sense! There was nothing mystical about this God they were talking to me about, and there was no strange way of getting to know Him or to go to heaven. They said that the only way to get to heaven was through this fellow Jesus, and all I had to do was pray and believe. That was it--no books to buy, no churches to attend, nothing.

They offered to let me think about whether or not I wanted to pray this prayer, and gain eternal life. I thought about it quickly, and decided to pray it--after all, I had nothing to lose if God wasn't there, or if what they were telling me was a lie. And so I prayed, and waited to see what this Jesus could do for me.

Well, to cut a long story short (we are talking about a two year span of my life here), Jesus has changed my life incredibly. I can't run faster, jump higher, or add better, but I can face each day without worrying about what happens after I take my last breath. I have the promise of spending eternity in heaven, as given by God Himself. I've spent many hours reading through His words, and I can't find anything that says He would forsake me or leave me out somewhere where He isn't. I've read books about the Book, and I have yet to come across anything that says the manuscripts that the Bible comes from are wrong, nor have I come across anything in the Bible itself that would contradict itself. It's perfect, it's the Word of God.

My point is: I'm not the only one who can profit from knowing Jesus. You can too. I'll leave that decision up to you, but if you would like to look at that four point outline (called the 4 Spiritual Laws), click here and read. Go ahead, no salesman to bother you, no one looking over your shoulder to judge you. Just you and God. Just go for it.
