Happy New Year!
Kaylyn and I were home from school today as we spent the evening changing clothing and bedding when she decided she had the flu!  Most of the kids at daycare ended up being home today with the same flu symptoms so I guess it was going around!  We have had a nice day of lounging after being up most of the night.  I haven't cleaned my house so well in a long time and spent most of the day doing that and laundry.

We have had a busy, busy month of January already!  We spent New Year's Eve at Mommy's friend Patti's house.  There were four couples and five kids.  It made for a fun evening while the kids ran around playing and the adults played games.  It was midnight before we knew it--we couldn't remember staying up that late together in a long time!!  Kaylyn and her friends were jumping from the couch to the table to the floor--not sure how safe that game was but monkey see, monkey do and the whole crew was jumping right after each other!!

Kaylyn has been very busy at school.  She has been singing songs.  Kaylyn LOVES the wheels on the bus, mary had a little lamb, twinkle, twinkle little star, ABC's and row, row, row your boat.  She has a book that goes along with the song Mary Had a Little Lamb----if we skip a page or say the wrong verse, Kaylyn becomes very, very upset!!  It's so much fun to see her so vocal--she has learned so much at school!  Everyday when I pick her up from daycare and ask her how her day was she responds, "Yellow Bus."  The bus continues to be the highlight of everyday!!

Kaylyn's daycare provider, Ronda and her family were out of town the last full week of January.  Grammy Holly came and spent the week watching Jake and Kaylyn.  They had a WONDERFUL time with Grammy.  Grammy and Jake were to school everyday to pick Kaylyn up.  The Thursday before Grammy went home, they were lucky enough to go out for lunch (PIZZA) with Gramps as he was up visiitng.  On Friday when Grammy picked Kaylyn up from preschool both kids began throwing their hands up and down chanting, "Pizza Grandpa!  Pizza Grandpa!"  Grammy thought it was hilarious until she said no and both sets of gloves and hats came flying over the seat at her!!

Kaylyn's new entertainment has been a variety of games---Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Hi-Ho Cherry-o, and Memory.  She also still puts together puzzles constantly.  We are absolutely amazed at how well she is at Memory.  When we flip a card over she gets excited and points directly to where the match is and cheers, "Yea Mommy!"  we have really been working on turn-taking.  She is excited when she says, 'Mommy's turn---Daddy's turn---kaylyn's turn!"  What a hoot!!  We play at least 5 or 6 games a day!!!

Kaylyn's 2nd favorite pasttime lately has been playing "Rock Band" with her big boy cousins.  She thinks she should be a drummer!  She LOVES to play the drums while Auntie Nae and jake sing and the boys play guitar!   The game is out of order now so she hasn't played for a while--although she is constantly playing her instruments at home!!

G & G Mac were able to come for a quick weekend visit in February to watch one of Daddy's game.  Kaylyn gets so excited when they come and jumps around like a crazy lady when they walk in the door.  Kaylyn didn't watch much of the game but G and G got too--Daddy was so happy they were able to come!!

We were also to Crosby to visit Cousin Max in February.  It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend so the kids got to play outside.  Kaylyn , Auntie, and Mommy made a snowman and Max kind of played on his own.  We decided to have a snowball fight which the kids loved until Mommy hit Max in the face with a snowball.  He was all done after that.  Kaylyn was so cute trying to comfort him afterwards but patting his back and hugging him!!

We continue to try to get kaylyn to use the potty--at home, at school, and at daycare.  She is a tough nut to crack----We were on the right track and then has been gone so much that it's hard to stay consistent.  She does like to sit and read books but isn't quite sure what to do when she sits.  We are hoping she catches on soon as her 4th birthday is looming---she is convinced that she pooped on the potty if after going--she dumps the evidence into the potty!!  At least she knows where it goes!!

We have spent the past 6 days home with a sick little girl.  She had a high, high fever for 3 days.  We took her in to the doctor on Day 4 and were told it was bronchitus and a sinus infection.  She is on the mend now and hoping to be back to school---she missed 4 days of school last week which didn't make her very happy!!

thank you so much for continuing to check on Kaylyn!!  I'll try to keep updating as often as I can manage to get the website to allow it!   Our next big excitement will be the March for Babies event in minot on March 15th!   Keep posted for pictures!
