The SSG is the supreme body of the whole students. It is represented by its
eight (8) officers - President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, P.I.O,
and two (2) Business Managers. This set of SSG officers with their adviser and the
year-level officers form the Executive Committee (EXECOM) which takes charge of planning
the activities involving the different year levels.
2.1 Guidelines for Application of the SSG and the Year-Level Office
Filing of Accreditation of Party and Platform of Government
Criteria and Requirements:
The SSG serves as a direct link between studennt body and the administration; and
should be agent for creating harmony and wholesome atmosphere inside the campus.
The SSG officers are models for other students. The administration appoints the SSG adviser.
The security reasons, the SSG fund is to be kept by the school for safekeeping
through the cashier.
The SSG Treasurer can request from the Administrative Team Member-Finance
an amount/budget needed for an official SSG activity.
Application of Candidacy with all requirements to the COMELEC.
A. A candidate to be qualified as SSG/year-level officer specifically the positions of
President and Vice-President, must be a practicing Catholic. A candidate running for president
or vice-president must submit a certification that he/she is a good practicing Catholic. This
certification must be signed by three (3) religion teachers.
B. A candidate must have a general average of 80% and with no failling grade in any previously
enrolled subject/s.
To attest this qualification, a certification signed by the registrar will be submitted to the
COMELEC by a candidate.
3. A candidate must have a Good Moral Character.
This is to be certified by a Guidance Counselor.
4. A candidate must have one year residence in BCC prior to assumption of office.
This qualification is not applicable to First Year Level candidates.
5. A candidate must have a load of at least 18 units or as found in the curriculum.
This is to be certified by the Registrar.
2.2 Guidelines for Election
A. Screening of Candidates
The Screening Committee is created by the Administrative Team to do the following:
* Review of candidates based on criteria and requirements
* Interview and orientation of candidates
* Recommends to the COMELEC list of candidates who are qualified to run.
B. Posting/Announcement of Qualified Candidates by the COMELEC
C. Campaign Period
* Room to room campaign for 2 days (1day from MWF and the other day from TTH)
* Permit for a room to room campaign from the COMELEC
* Half day for the grand rally of all parties.
D. Campaign Paraphernalla
Posters can be posted immediately after the approval of the candidacy.
* Identified poster areas:
* Alley(main)
* Academic bulletin boards
* Alley to the administrative building
Materials to be used:
* Least expensive
* Environment - Friendly
The parties concerned will be responsible for removing campaign posters within two
days after the election.
E. Election Proper
* List of voters must be posted by the COMELEC one day before the election. Counting starts
after the closure of election. Each Party should provide 2 watchers for each precinct duly
appointed by party leaders and to be submitted to the COMELEC. Classrooms are to be used as
polling places. The SSG adviser is responsible for preparing the voting centers and election paraphernalla.
* Voters should present their ID during elecions.
* Two faculty members appointed by the COMELEC will act as poll clerks.
* Tabulators will be appointed by the COMELEC
* Campaign headquarters is provided for each party by the SSG Adviser.
F. Genral Provisions
* Conduct of the election should be under the supervision of the COMELEC
* Election-related activities should be referred to the COMELEC except for those assigned
to the SSG Adviser.
* Ballot and ballot boxes should be taken from the DSDW Office by the Poll Clerks to their
respective precincts
* Official declaration of winners must be done by the COMELEC
* Election protest should be filed within 24 hours after the election
* Winning candidate should taken an oath of office before legally assuming his/her official Function.
2.3 Leadership Training
Officers of the Supreme Student Government, Year Level Organizations and clubs undergo a two-day
and a half leadership formation program. They are trained to acquire specific leadership skills
which will prepare and develop them to be desirable leaders of the community or country.
