American Folk Festival Bangor Waterfront,, Aug. 28-30, 2009. WOW ~~ An absolute must experience if you are a music lover at all!! Indigenous music from all over the world is represented each and every year. And the weather is always good... at least it has been so far!
You can kayak up to the wharves, tie up your boat and stroll to all the events. Or take a tour of the Kenduskeag, which winds like a canal through downtown Bangor. It's all free, and there'll be lots of crafts, food and dancing to the music (blues, Celtic, Quebecois, Eastern European, Greek, Mongolian, bluegrass, Cajun, and zydeco to name just a few... This is a continuation of the National Folk Festival held by the Smithsonian here. Do not miss it!! No pets allowed.
